It's just the same as other Mario Parties, but it's still a fun game.

User Rating: 8.3 | Mario Party 5 GC
Gameplay 9: In Mario Party 5 the gameplay is still largely unchanged from any other Mario Party games, but the gameplay is still good. There are some cool new things like the bonus mode where you can play volley ball, and ice hockey, there also is the new capsules, and the new Dk space, which are nice additions. The mini games in this game overall are just as good as other Mario Party games, but also not any better. There are some really excellent ones, and then there are some that revolve completly on luck which is somehwat annoying. And sometimes the mini games are flat out way to simplistic. I think that they should change some of Mario Party's gameplay to get some originallity for the series, yet the gameplay is still very enojyable.
Graphics 7: Overall the graphics to me look pretty bad, yet it is a gamecube game, and when you compare it to graphics on the N64, they're still good, and sometimes the backgrounds look excllent.
Sound 6: This is a place where this Mario Party does not live up to the others. Often the same sounds are used in multiple mini games, and sometimes it gets somewhat annoying. The sound overall was only about average.
Value 8: This game as a single player game has little value as the story mode can be beaten hadily in about 2 hours, yet there is tons of fun with 4 people to be had with this game, so it might be worth a purchase.
Tilt 9: This game is overflowing with nintendo personality and funny moments as well.
Overall 8.3/10 The Mario Party series has really not had any imrpovement since Mario Party 2. The Mario Party gameplay is still fun, yet I think they could get better if Hudson started changing some things about the gameplay.
