Poor baseball game.But Cube owners can't do anything about it.
The game introduces a brand new idea called the Swing Stick.What you do is you move the C-Stick down when the pitch is coming to step into the pitch.Then release just at the right time to make contact.At first,it's a cool idea.But later on,when you master it, you discover that it's far to easy to make solid contact.So you end up switching back to Classic mode,which is the same batting premise were all used to.
Pitching is the same as always.You pick a pitch,then time it...press the button.Ya know? Anyone whose played a baseball game before knows exactly what to do.
The graphics are horrible in this game.No other way around it.Cube owners also have no batter walk-ups.After you make an out,get a hit..whatever.The game just cuts into the next batter.Right there and then.Same for innings too.After the 3rd out...BAM! The next batter from the other team comes in the batters box.No cutscenes or anything.It's really weird.And really lame if you want realism.
The rosters are pretty outdated too.For some unknown reason.Kaz Matsui and Kris Benson were both on the Mets.When you first pop in the game,expect to spend an hour or so just updating the rosters.
To conclude it.....I'll say this.
If you own a PS2,get MLB:The Show.Stay away from this game.If your a sole Cube owner like me.Then you've got no choice.
