Don't waste your money.
To put it simply, Madden 25 gameplay-wise is completely broken. The human team a.i. is absolutely horrendous, as you'll constantly see your teammates making absolutely idiotic decisions. For example, on a cornerback blitz you'll often if not always see the cornerback seek out a blocker instead of running straight to the QB when he has a clear path. The pass coverage for both human and computer controlled teams is horrible. Zone defense is nonexistent and man coverage isn't much better. I constantly saw my defenders giving 10-15 yard cushions on every single passing play leading to way too many easy completions. Run defense isn't completely horrible except that the running game is extremely overpowered in this years game. The new precision running makes every running back basically turn into Adrian Peterson. I had Doug Martin just trucking defender after defender one game and most of those were linebackers who towered over him. For those of you who don't know Doug Martin, he isn't very imposing in size at about 5'9".
Now I haven't played very far into franchise yet since I haven't been able to tweak the gameplay enough to my liking yet. But so far I've noticed it is extremely easy to get xp this year as practices give out at least 1000xp even if you fail, and this is for every player on your roster...even the injured ones oddly enough. I'm not sure if this is good or bad yet though as I haven't progressed far enough to see if this results in ridiculously overpowered rosters.
Basically to sum it up Madden 25 is not a good game. If this were perhaps an earlier iteration of Madden I could look past a lot of these issues, but this is supposed to be the 25th Anniversary swan song of the current generation of games, and instead I'm finding myself just annoyed at all the wasted opportunities by EA. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the money on this years game, wait for some sort of sale, buy it from a disgruntled fan for cheap, or keep last years version...but don't go out and buy it for full price.
