A few new animations and slight gameplay changes make this nearly identical to last year's game.

The Good: A few new player animations. Online play is lag-free. Superstar icons add a slight bit of new strategy. The Bad: Offline play can get laggy sometimes. Review: I'm not going to make this a long review. Chances are, if you're reading this, you've played a Madden game or two (or three or a dozen) before. This game is virtually the same as last year. The graphics seem a slight touch nicer, as do some new player animations. Online play is still outstanding. All-Madden mode is still hard (and feels cheap sometimes) when playing against the elite teams. You can also choose to hit ball carriers high or low with the hit stick this year. I nearly always go for high anyway, since it's supposed to cause more fumbles. There are still Madden geniuses online who will tear apart casual gamers. New this year are superstar icons, which basiclally tell you who your superstars are on the field, as if you didn't know. They are supposed to help you see any mismatches, like if you have T.O. lined up against some rookie corner. But if you've played this game before, you're already accustomed to looking for your stars and looking for mismatches. All the franchise, superstar, mini-camp modes are all still here. And that's about it. It's still solid Madden, but not much different from last year, as the GS review said and everyone knows. I got this game mostly for the online play.
