The game is currently a big mess as of release. Already there are people on Legends of Pegasus forums complaining about an Alpha product being released. Unfortunately I find myself agreeing with them.

My experience with the game has been limited to under an hour, honestly that's all I could stand.

Here is a list of a few specific things that bothered me.

1) Controls are not intuitive and do not always work. The camera movement is unpredictable at times and is hard to control. One example of my frustration was wanting to view the current solar system I am in. Typically the camera is defaulted at planet view, so I zoomed out as much as I could but I could still only see my planet and the surrounding gravity well. Strange, so I consulted the options. Turns out how I have to hit the space key to view the solar system. Okay! So I do that and look around a bit. I want to center my view on another planet so I double click it, nothing happens. I push the space bar assuming it might switch modes. Nothing happens. Out of frustration I began rapidly clicking one of the planets and it finally zoomed in! Yikes.

Viewing the entire galaxy was another adventure. There is a button in the bottom right of the screen that allows you to view the entire galaxy. Upon pushing that button you'll notice the button disappears and you're stuck in galaxy view. The options mention about the g,h,x keys being used to change view, none of them worked however. I attempted my rapid clicking of a solar system and it finally decided to zoom in.

2) Double clicking structures or ships in the build menu doesn't automatically queue them for construction. Instead, you have to drag and drop the item from the menu to the planet/shipyard slot. I understand that the planet has special bonuses for some of its tiles depending on what you build, so why doesn't double clicking just automatically populate the bonus slots and then the universal spots?

3. BUGS: I start the campaign? Game freezes and goes to a Black screen. I zoom into the planet to look at it - Black screen. I push the view galaxy button - Black screen. My oh my this is fun. Even the start button to begin a skirmish is buggy at times and requires the user to click it multiple times/in different locations until you hit the 'sweet spot' that activates the game.

4. Non-intuitive interface and wasted space. The interface design reminds me of something you would see ~10 years ago. Small pictures (with no description) surrounded by large blank areas of space. If the interface was actually designed with some intelligence they could remove the collapsible menus that currently exist and neatly display all of the information at once.

The game is a chore to play.

Wait on this one.
