If you are looking for a perfect car simulation, then you may want to purchase Gran Turismo and maybe a $100 peripheral racing wheel as an accessory. Kinect Joy Ride is not a perfect car simulation........but it is not meant to be. It is meant to be a family friendly / social game.

This is the ONLY xbox 360 game that my relatives and I play together. It is extremely user friendly, and the controls are pretty good once you figure out how to do the movements properly. After a bit of practice, I was able to come in 1st place on one of the more difficult tracks. If the controls were broken, then I certainly would not be able to come in 1st place. I also don't have any problems with the boost function, the boost always works perfectly whenever I need it.

It lacks controller support, but there is a label on the game that clearly states "Requires Kinect". The lack of controller support is not a problem. If I wanted a controller based game, then I would go purchase one of the other generic car racing games that are already out there on the market.

note: this game is also fun in solo play, and you can use your personal avatar as the driver.
