Honestly, disappointing, but still not bad, and quite catchy.

Gameplay: When I first opened this game and began playing it, I thought that this game had great potential. A sci-fi war game, taking place in the future. You are a ranking officer in the military called the ISA, and you are fighting against a mutated race called the Helghast. The HUD and gameplay is quite simple, without too much in the way of being hard. Over time though, this game began to disappoint me. As you get into battles, the AI of your opponent tends to hide. Often. After you take a couple shots at them, they hide behind a wall or a rock. Now, usually, that gives you the hint that the AI is smart, but the problem is, they never come back out. You literally have to run up there to them to be able to get them to come out, putting you in harm's way. And your teammates aren't that smart either, as you can have an enemy standing right in front of you, and they won't do anything about it. Some of the level designs seem a bit repetitive after a while, as they tend to go through a similar looking design over and over again. Also, the weapons are highly unoriginal. There are at least three or four different types of grenade launchers, and other than that, there is only but three or four other weapons in the entire game. Also, there just aren't enough Checkpoints in this game, making it so that if you die, which, although you do slowly regenerate health, is still quite easy to do, you'll have to start back at the beginning of the level entirely. But, even through all of this, the game still is a fun first person shooter game.

Graphics: The graphics of this game really aren't anything special. In some levels, the lighting is terrible, and, even if it's supposed to be bad, you can't even see the enemies in it. The gun animations are pretty good though, with the reloading looking almost too exaggerated. None the less, the game doesn't have a bad frame rate, so you aren't missing a beat. The movie scenes are also quite good, with the camera angles in them being very creative.

Sound: The voices can be slightly distracting in this game, whether it be your teammates, or your enemies. Sometimes, it sounds like they are right behind you, yet they are quite a ways away over the battlefield. Your teammates also sometimes talk to you, giving you hints, or telling you something that is usually unimportant. It can get annoying at times, but thankfully, they don't talk too often. One of the more, useful, for lack of a better term, sounds in the game, is that, no matter how far away your opponent is, if you shoot at him and hit him, you will hear him scream. So you can always tell if he is hit or not. It's unrealistic, yes, but useful at times.

Value: If you have a network adapter, and like to play first person shooters online, I really would recommend this game, as, no matter how simple the gameplay is, it is still addicting. And, if you don't, I'd probably rent this game before you buy it, as it may not be your cup of tea. It does have a single-player multi-player type option in it, in which you play with the AI, so it can still be fun as a first person shooter alone.

Score: 7.7 out of 10

Comments: I really can complain a lot about this game, but even through all of it, I still have a part of me that enjoys the game. I did get frusterated with it way too many times after dying towards the end of a level, and having to start it all over, but I sucked it up and redid it anyways. The AI REALLY disappointed me though. They really could have been smarter in so many ways. Or, if not smarter, just a little bit more fair. All in all, if you are looking for an easy first person shooter that doesn't have a thousand different options in it, this game is definately the one for you.
