I remember getting my brand new ps2 with this game around 9 years ago, and I must say, I made the right choice of game to go with my ps2.

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is a 3d-platforming game for the playstation 2. It is also what I like the call a "Collectathon", in other words it is pretty much the same gameplay that Super Mario 64 had in 1997. You collect items in the game called power cells to progress through the game's story, there are around 7 power cells in each area so you are gonna have to look everywhere to find them. Now looking around isn't the only way you can get power cells because you can also do minigames that people want you to do, buy them for precursor orbs; which is the currency in the game, kill all the enemies in the are among other things that you can do.
Eco was the thing that set this game apart from other 3d-platformers at the time, eco would give you short power ups that lasted about 30 seconds(depending on how much you collect), Blue eco increases your speed and also draws nearby precursor orbs to you, Green eco replenishes your health bar, Red eco makes your attacks stronger and gives them a wider range, yellow eco let's you shoot fire balls and dark eco kills you.

The story for the game is a simple one, your friend gets turned into a short fuzzy creature known as an 'ottsel' because he fell into a pool of dark eco. Jak; the main character for this game, feels gulity that his friend got turned into an animal so they set off to see if the worlds dark eco expert can turn his friend back to human form. Though along the way the plot thickens and you end up saving the world.

I thought the game was abit too easy at times and abit short, but if you try to get all the power cells you may have more of a challenge and it will probably add another hour or two onto your gaming experience.

I have played this game countless times and still don't get bored, so I give Jak and Daxter:The Precursor Legacy a 9 out of 10
