It's the origins that we must look at, and not the descendants. I salute you, Jak and Daxter, Precursors of gaming.

User Rating: 10 | Jak and Daxter: the Precursor Legacy PS2
Just look at my profile picture first and imagine what im going to write :P
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is practically one for the first 5 full non-demo games to be released for the ps2, with the following of AirBlade and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil. This is the first game to take the rpg platforming occupation to a whole new level, utilizing a completely fictionative imagination merged with factors which look comparitavely real in themselves as one plays the game more and more. As a result, many reach the point where they may become Jak or Daxter in their way of rpg thinking, and this amplifies the joy the game gives them. Brilliant planning, Naughty Dog. Jak and Daxter is a very difficult game to categorize, seeing as every one of its aspects is studied from the way Jak moves to the way he fights and performs tasks, all mute no less. Let's start with the easiest thing: Graphics. These graphics would captivate any noob gamer given the chance, since they fit the world Jak navigates in as well as the way the characters and NPCs interact. Example: Kiera and mute Jak, dressed as they are, give us the impression of a cute animeic couple ready to take on the world. Daxter serves as the beautification factor, breaking any ice that the player may assume, and i stress on asSume, is forming in the conversations. Moving onto the battle system, its short life span in close combat with the obvious "1 hit KO" technique implemented prevents the dullness of extended real-time fighting. It is not by mistake the same is applied to Jak, too. Example: imagine fighting Gilgamesh on FF12. D-U-L-L.
Next up are the map layouts, a thing Naughty Dog perfected even back then. Each Environment fits the elemental properties of the Sage Jak has to travel to, giving the player some thought of the powers of Eco. Indeed, the art of Eco may have been the most prominent and uniqe asset no other game has offered. Sadly, Spyro's similar attempts at elemental breathing became boring after "Enter the Dragon Fly", as it became too repeatitive of a factor in its latter 3 games, whereas Jak and Daxter shifts elements in the second part of the series, and adds that element's opposite in the third (= Then there is the length of the game... LONG, very long, and unlike most games, not boring with time, and that's if u get all 100 power cells in one sweep without visiting previous locations and spending more hours to get them . The type gameplay has revolutionized the ps2 gaming industry world-wide, introducing the most basic forms of platforming in a new console. As you can see, the dates match. Life span of ps2---> 9-10 years. go back 9-10 years, and there you have it, bestseller of 2001. Content and storyline were excellent, a nexxus of innovative ideas whose chronological order couldn't have been more precise in producing joy and apathy from the player. And if that didn't work, you can always hop on a Flut-Flut or on your plane-like machine, and pretend you're playing need for speed with some enemies. Example: Jak X proves this desire in the consumer.

Overall Equation:
- Gameplay: 9.6/10
- Graphics: 9.8/10
-Duration: 15.125/16
-Playability Rate: 200% must repeat once
Emphasis, Order, Content: overall of 18.5/20

Of course, this is speaking as a critic. My rating 10/10 remains bright as the sun.
