If you can't get enough of the old school Fallout series, JA 2 is the game for you!

User Rating: 8 | Jagged Alliance 2 PC
Jagged Alliance 2 is very similar in terms of the whole production package to the old Fallout series, which is good news to tactical strategy fans, though you'll realise that there's a lot of micromanagement to deal with.

Without the official manual or game guide, you may find yourself struggling with basic tasks like applying first aid, repairing items or travelling in the map. These steps can be very specific and long-winded, which would take half a day's learning curve to get used to. In fact, this game is hard overall, where most of the combat layouts always put you in very awkward positions, prompting tons of re-loads.

Probably one of the best moments in the game is the death sequences. Getting a headshot in JA 2 is a well-rewarded treat as elaborate head-splitting animations justify your painstakingly trained marksmanship. Another interesting aspect, which follows the success of Fallout 2 culture, is the inclusion of special encounters in the map, and often, the game does offer unique rewards for bumping into them. And if you're a weapon collector, JA 2 has dozens of varieties and mods for them too.

Also not forgetting to mention is the great voice acting, especially conversations between the main antagonist and her pitiful assistant when you took over a town. The music may be a little old-fashioned, but the sounds of combat still can tickle your senses a bit, particularly when you get the well deserved headshots. Quite a gem in the tactical strategy genre.
