Decent at Best

I'm generally unfamiliar with NIS, I've only played Disgaea 3. This game wasn't bad but it wasn't great. The battle system is repetitive as I found myself using only 1 or 2 combos all the way till endgame. Some skills are flashy and the transformation sequences were worth watching as well, although until you unlock other characters the only one who can transform is Neptune. The boss battles and dungeon fights were generally disappointing. I was interested in the ability to customize how Neptune looked during her HDD form, but ended up abandoning that until I unlocked the other CPUs. For me, the music was both annoying and not entirely bad. I strangely enjoyed Arfoire's theme and CPU White Heart's theme as well as bits and pieces here and there. The price is another drawback, it doesn't seem worth the money for a game that I didn't play too much (if I recall, it costs as much as Black Ops when it came out, a game I play much more). All in all if you can get past the borderline porno cutscenes, this game isn't that bad. However I would really only recommend this game to anime fans.
