Removes most gameplay annoyances from previous installments.

User Rating: 8.5 | Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility WII
Being a fan of the series, I give this one high marks simply because they took out or fixing things that have been annoying in previous Harvest Moon games. Everything else is pretty standard as far as HM games go.

For example:
1) You can actually walk between your crops instead of planting a 3x3 square and then never being able to water or harvest the plant in the middle. And seeds sow in 1x6 rows rather than 3x3 squares. Brilliant!
2) Your coop and barn automatically come with shipping bins instead of them being upgrades
3) Building upgrades only require a reasonable amount of stone and lumber rather than multiple hundreds
4) You ring the bell in front of your barn to bring the animals out or in rather than pushing them out/in one at a time and having to hunt them down at night if they wander off
5) You don't have to build fences to fend away wolves or keep your animals from wandering too far
6) You can actually see your stamina bar (HM games that don't show this have always annoyed me), and you don't have a fullness bar (The fullness bar was one of the two major things about Island of Happiness)
7) You don't have to level up the skill on a tool in order to upgrade it, so long as you have the money and the required metal.
8) You don't have to upgrade a tool in order to use its skilled-up charging effects
9) The mine is only 30 levels deep rather than 100!
10) You water your crops once a day and forget it. You don't have to water them twice (like in A Wonderful Life) or worry about how much water, time, and sunlight your crops get (like in Island of Happiness, which was the other thing I hated. I don't want to play a HM game if I need a spreadsheet to make sure my crops are growing, thanks.)
11) You don't need very rare ores/metals or wonderfuls to upgrade your tools or create makers
12) There is no huge forest to get lost in (and waste valuable time trying to get back home from) when you need lumber. Instead there is an easily accessible grove you can use.

And those are only what I could come up with off the top of my head. So if any or all of these things in previous Harvest Moon titles have annoyed you, then definitely give this game a go!
