User Rating: 9.6 | Guitar Hero PS2
Gameplay 10/10 – Guitar Hero for the PS2 is probably the most fun I have ever had playing a game. Since rock is my genre of choice and I like playing air guitar, it’s sweet to be able to actually easily learn to play the mini-guitar controller and play some great tunes.

Pros: Great tune choice; awesome guitar controller(with 5 colored fret buttons, clicky flipper instead of strings and a pick, whammy bar and star power to use when you click the ‘select’ button or tilt the guitar up)which makes rocking rock; very smart learning curve which makes it easy to play for beginners along with making it so you can’t jump to even medium without some experience in easy mode; great guitar heroes and other musicians (which includes a scythe-guitar-rockin’ Grim Reaper)and venues which makes playing those licks even better; very fun gameplay with a ton of replay value; ‘Unlock Shop’ has many guitars and skins to buy, along with characters, extra songs and videos to buy which is also a plus.

Cons: Only cons would probably be just no Van Halen, Led Zeppelin or AC/DC.

Graphics 8/10 – The visuals are a meh for this game as they don’t look all that great but you won’t be looking at anything but really the rolling fret bar so it doesn’t really matter. The good is that the visual style is great. Characters, such as the big guitar hero, have pretty ugly mugs and look in-human. Also, the singers when they sing look poor, but it’s not like they can really make it look any better. They said in the characters video it had a whole ton of pixels already in the mouth so why add more.

Sound 10/10 – The Guitar Hero sound is perfect. There is a great list of songs to play, along with good audience reaction when you are doing well or bad (even in the venues certain things happen when you are playing good or are doing poor). I’m glad to see there will be Van Halen in the second GH and hopefully, with the ability to play a rhythm, lead or bass guitar, we can see some Nirvana and other great bands too.

Value 9/10 – This game has countless hours of fun in career mode and a whole ton of replay value which makes it a great buy. The only problem is the amount of money being spent on it. I spent $96 (including taxes and insurance thing) so, though I used trade-in credit, it was a bit much. But if you have enough money to shell out on an amazing game you should pick up Guitar Hero.

Tilt 10/10 – I love this game and have been playing it non-stop ever since I picked it up. The ‘hours spent playing it’ in this review may not be how many hours I have spent so far (I have only had it for a few days) but it will definitely be how many hours I am gunna end up playing it, and so will you so pick up this game and have a blast!
