Gretzky '06 is one of those games you really want to like, but you just can't due to all the minor issues
Gameplay:
You ever had a girlfreind who sends you mixed messages? Well, that is sort of what Gretzky does. It tries to be a more fast paced arcase hockey game, but the goalie ALWAYS freezes the puck and it feels very sluggish, however you speed through the ice like someone running from the cops. Just like NHL 06 for the consoles, this game is a hit fest, you cross the blue line, might as well paint a target on yourself because that is what you become to the opposing team. However, the control is an improvment over last season.
Graphics:
Screenshots might lookk promising, but the framerate is horrible (although better than its prediccessor(did i spell that right?)). its also funny becasue they put work work into the facial detial of the coaches than the players.
Sound:

They should have stuck with no commentary. ^^^thats what it is like with commentay, the same damm thing over and over and over. It kills the (actually very good) sounds of blades scraping the ice and the bones crunching during a body check.
Replay Value:
It sucks because this game has no fracnchise mode. I mean after seeing what they can do with GTA LCS, you'd thing if they put some effort into it, they could add a freakin franchise mode? Oh Well, i guess im lazy too.....Online Play and season mode are good however.
