These two amazing episodes smashed together on one disc are a 2-in-1 special worth checking out.

User Rating: 9 | Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City PS3
If you've played and enjoyed Grand Theft Auto IV, there is absolutely no reason not to purchase and play both of the additional episodes for it. The Lost and Damned, and the Ballad of Gay Tony are the two episodes found in Episodes From Liberty City. They take you through different plots that occurred around the same time as Grand Theft Auto IV did. And anyone who has played it will likely recognize the main characters from these episodes, as well as some of the missions. There are many moments when paths cross, and you get to play a part of the story from a different perspective. That's the most interesting thing about these episodes as far as the plot goes. Both episodes feature a few additions and improvements from Grand Theft Auto IV, which makes the overall experience just as good, and in some cases, even better.

-The Lost and Damned-

The first episode released was The Lost and Damned. It features the character, Johnny Klebitz, a member of a biker gang seen throughout Liberty City called The Lost. There are conflicts with a rival biker gang, as well as conflicts within the The Lost itself. Some new features include new weapons such as the sawed-off shotgun, and the assault shotgun. The mechanics for riding a motorcycle are improved, which is great because there is obviously a lot of motorcycle riding in this add-on. The story is a bit on the short side, but it's still pretty well done and fun to follow. The missions sometimes play out a bit differently thanks to the ability to call in some of your fellow biker members for some back up. It's overall a good start to the episodes, but leaves you wanting more after the story is complete. There are some bike races to do, and a few other side missions and games to do after the story though.

Overall: 8.6/10

-The Ballad of Gay Tony-

The last of the two episodes, is The Ballad of Gay Tony. This episode brings back some of the features other Grand Theft Auto games had such as parachutes, and even a usable tank. The main protagonist is Luis Lopez, who is also seen in Grand Theft Auto IV and The Lost and Damned at certain points in the plot where path meets. Not only is Luis an interesting character, so is the guy who he is working for, Tony, otherwise known as "Gay Tony". The missions for the most part offer more variety than the previous episode and Grand Theft Auto IV itself. However the large amounts of shootouts can wear thin after a while. Other than that this episode is done really well. The characters and plot are just outstanding. A new, but somewhat unnecessary feature would be the mission ratings you get after completing a mission. This allows opportunity for replayability, as missions can be completed as many times as you want. Like the previous episode there is a very nice addition of weapons. Overall this episode is what you would want out of a Grand Theft Auto game, and with the additional weapons, cars, and minigames, this episode can last quite a while.

Overall: 9.2/10

Episodes from Liberty Story are well worth playing through assuming you have completed Grand Theft auto IV. There is plenty of action, and great story telling. Liberty City is still full of life, and the episodes definitely add some truly great experience to a game that was all ready really good.

Final score: 9/10
