The first GTA game i ever player was GTA 2 on the PS1. This game goes back to the bird's eye view from GTA 2 and improves almost every aspect of the game.

The game itself is very balanced, the missions were difficult, but not so difficult that you have to restart a million times. The controls fit the game well, the only complaint i had here was that if you wanted to hit people with a sword in a fight and you walk over a pistol, you automatically are equipped with the pistol which could be quite annoying.

One thing i really liked about the game was that when a cop tries to pull you out of the car, if you step on the gas he'll always be shaken off, whereas in GTA 2 if a cop gets anywhere near your door, it's pretty much GG.

The combat lock on system works well, it would be insane to expect anyone to manually aim with those controls and it still allows for a measure of tactical strategy to be needed in battles. The camera angles in my opinion, are a lot less frustrating that the other GTA psp titles.

The thing that bothered me the most about this game was that i had beaten it one day after i got it. Once you beat the game doing the mini missions get dull pretty fast and you don't really feel like running through the game again and watching you character getting taken advantage of by all those different people again. Certainly worth playing but it could have been much, much better if the story was longer.
