Ooooooohhh, shiny.

User Rating: 8.5 | Geometry Wars: Galaxies DS
Geometry Wars: Galaxies is surprisingly one of the best looking games you'll ever play on your DS. Absolutely vivid graphics, and spot-on arcade-style shooting action make this version of Geometry Wars as much fun as it's Xbox 360 arcade original. The controls have changed to fit the DS, but it's still easy to move around and shoot as it was for past GW games. You have 2 control preferences: move with stylus and shoot with buttons (which is very hard to do), or move with buttons and aim and shoot with stylus (recommended).

All 60 levels in Geometry Wars: Galaxies are bursting with colorful enemy projectiles (don't get hit!), and blood pumping action. Each level has a certain goal or enemies you have to accomplish, or defeat to collect geoms- which is currency in the game- to unlock more galaxies and planets (levels). You can skip any level you can't do, and you can always go back to previous levels to level-up your probe (which can be very useful in further levels). However, I did find some of the levels a bit tedious, and a lot of times I wished there were at least some boss battles.

Geometry Wars: Galaxies, either way you look at it, is still a very fun and challenging arcadey game on the go. And if you can get Wi-fi, you can post your top-scores on the leaderboards to see if your really are the best of the best. Add the original Geometry Wars: retro evolved to the mix, and I can see a person playing this game for a loooooong time.
