Mary's letter changes
When you Fight Eddie, The writing on Mary's letter disappears. After you view the videotape in Room 312 of the Lakeview Hotel, the paper completely disappears. Then after James encounters Pyramid Head for the last time, the envelope disappears. Possibly symbolizing that the letter was never real.

New Options
Once you beat the game you will find new options in the Options menu including Bullet Adjust (gives you x2 or x3 bullets when finding ammo- say for example you get 12 bullets, if you set it to x2 you would get 24) and and option the lets you turn off the noise filters.

Bonus Riddle Mode
Beat the game using all three Riddle Difficulty settings to unlock a fourth difficulty.

Activate Mini Map
First, complete the game with the Dog ending. Start a new game, then set the button config to type 2 in the options menu.
The button combination needs to be input during normal play, immediately after exiting the inventory menu (i.e. while the screen is fading to black after exiting).
While holding the Start button, hold L2, Square and L3 in that order. While holding these buttons down, tapping L3 will toggle different views on the mini map. Tapping L3 enough times will eventually switch the mini map off.Effect Start + L2 + Square + L3 Activate Mini Map Contributed by: farmery87

Unlockable Unlockable In the Alternate Lakeside Hotel Reading Room. Book of Crimson Ceremony This is in the Newspaper Stand near Texxon gas station. Book Of Lost Memories Complete the game on normal difficulty and puzzle settings, start a new game and look in the logs near the cemetery, the chainsaw is there. Chainsaw Complete with the rebirth ending and the dog key will be in the dog house near Jack's Inn. Dog Key On a shelf in the Historical Society. Unlockable Weapons
Unlockable Unlockable When you beat the game, you get a replay option. Go into the replay option and when James is walking down the hill in the very beginning of the game, near the Silent Hill Ranch theres a mysterious pile of logs that appear! Get the chainsaw
To get the chainsaw beat the Main Scenario and then beat the Sub-Scenario. Then start another new game and go down the path and you should hear a weird noise (not the one to scare you) then across form Silent Hill Ranch the is there chainsaw on the logs.

In a Replay Game, go to the Reading Room in the Evil Lakeview Hotel. On the Bookshelf, across from the headphones is the book.

Obtain Rebirth Ending
Unlik the other traditional endings, the Rebirth Ending can only be obtained in a REPLAY game. Collect the Obsidian Goblet, the White Chrism, the Book of Memories and the Book of Crimson Ceremony and once you beat the game, the ending will be the Rebirth Ending.

Obtain Obsidian Goblet
In a Replay game, go to the Silent Hill: Historical Society. After the first room from when you enter, look in one of the Display Cases for the Obsidian Goblet. This item is crucial to obtaining the Rebirth Ending.

Obtain White Chrism
Beat the game once on any difficulty mode for both riddle and action difficulties. Then go to Room 105 in the Boue Creek Apartment Buildings and in the kitchen is the White Chrism.

Obtaining the Sixth Secret Joke Ending
To get the 6th secret joke ending, exclusive to the xbox version, use the Blue Gem in the following locations: Alternate Brook Haven Hospital's garden, the dock (before you get on the boat), and lastly room 312 in the Lakeview Hotel. Using it in room 312 will end the game and the joke ending will begin.

Clear Up the Signs Around Town
As in the PlayStation 2 version of the game, beat the game ''Letter from Silent Heaven'' with all 5 endings on one save and the blurry signs around town are now clear.

Successfully complete the game. Start another game and enter the extra options menu to access new features.

Bring All Unlocked Secrets from Silent Hill 2 to the Greatest Hits Version
If you have the original Silent Hill 2 game save present in your Memory Card and when loading up Silent Hill 2 (Greatest Hits) version, any of the secrets you obtained (like Extra Options and weapons) will be available from the start.
