Infinite ammo
There is a simple button sequence to get infinite ammo anytime you wish. Go to your item screen and press the following sequence:
Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Aim.

Quick access to Hard-difficulty
There's a quicker way to access the Hard-difficulty. One that doesn't require you to finish the game on a lower difficulty level first. Use the Windows registry editor (c:\windows\regedit.exe) to view the system registry branch [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Capcom\RESIDENT EVIL2].
This branch contains a registry key called "Install Flag". Change the hexadecimal value of this key to 000007ad. This change makes Hard-difficulty immediately accessible. This one is handy to all those veteran players who have uninstalled and then re-installed RE2 on their system and want to play on Hard-difficulty NOW and not later.Contributed by: Shockproof_Jamo

Secret Rebecca's Picture
Just like some common versions of Resident Evil 2, you can get this secret picture. In the Police Station, go to the S.T.A.R.S. office, then check Wesker's desk for the note ''It's trashed. Someone must have searched the desk...'' to be shown 50 times. Then you will get the Film D. Bring it to the Dark Room below the stairs and you take ''Recruit'' picture of Rebecca.

Unlock the ''Extreme Battle'', ''4th Survivor'' and ''To-Fu Game''.
First, go to Windows registry (Click on execute then type ''Regedit'').Go to this adress ''HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareCAPCOMRESIDENT EVIL2''. Unlock TOFU
The EASIEST way to unlock TOFU is to beat Leon A, Claire B, Leon A again, Claire B again, Leon A again and then Claire be again to unlock TOFU. All those games must be on Normal, not Easy or Arrange.
There is a harder way.

Extra Ammo
Before you use the custom parts on the VP70(Handgun), Desert Eagle(Magnum) or Shotgun use the remaing ammo in the clip/breech. When you use the custom parts to upgrade the gun it will automatically be fully loaded. This may seem like a small amount of ammo but can go a long way in the harder difficuties were ammo is rarer.

Alternate Costumes for Leon and Claire
Start a new game with either character on Normal and proceed towards the Raccoon City Police Department as usual.
Do not pick up any weapons or ammunition, and try to conserve any ammo you have on the way.
Once you reach the entrance to R.P.D. you will see some stairs leading down. Go down the stairs and there will be a unique zombie wearing a yellow vest. (This is actually a Zombified Brad Vickers, S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team's cowardly helicopter pilot from the first game.)
Kill him and he'll drop a ''Special Key''. (NOTE: Zombie Brad takes up to 20 shots to kill, so you'll want to conserve your ammo on your way to R.P.D.)
Use the key on the lockers in the Dark Room and there will be a screen that comes up that asks you if you want to switch costumes.

Unlock Randomizer Option
Beat all the normal scenarios (LeonA/B,ClaireA/B) to unlock the Randomizer Option.If start a new game at the Start Game Screen you will be able to choose between Normal and the Randomizer Option.It will place most of the items in the game randomly.This way you will surely be able to gain much more Ammo as in Normal Mode.

Secret Film
To view a secret film, search the desk to the far left of the S.T.A.R.S. office 50 times. (You'll know it's the right one if a text box pops up reading; "It's trashed, someone must have searched the desk.") On the 50th time, you'll find a roll of film which you can develope in the darkroom.

Extra Costumes
To get extra costumes for the game, you must first play the game on normal. DO NOT get the extra ammo in the gun-shop or on the bus. When you get to the Police station, near the subway there is a zombie. If you look closely, you will see that it is Brad Vickers, the helicopter pilot from the first one. After killing him, inspect his corpse and you will find a key. This key will unlock a shelf somewhere in the police station that you couldn't before. Inside it are extra costumes for Claire and Leon.

Shoot The Camera
To do this, go to the outside area in the basement where two dogs jump down from the fence. Quickly stand with your back facing the manhole and walk forward until the camera angle changes. Now draw your weapon and shoot. Then, bullet holes will appear on the screen

Hidden R.P.D. Entrance Gate
The R.P.D.'s main outdoor entrance gate, which Jill passes through in RE3, can also be encountered in RE2 as a well-hidden easter egg. Unlike most areas in the game, this one in particular has a few special requirements in order to be accessed: 1) You need to kill the two zombies that hang out on the lawn directly outside of the R.P.D. If you've activated Brad's presence in the same area, the two lawn zombies will only appear AFTER you've killed Brad and have re-entered the area. They MUST be killed. 2) Head directly across from the R.P.D.'s main entrance doors and check the outer wall (press X). The camera will shift to a view outside of the entrance gate with three additional zombies attempting to break in. This special viewpoint can only be accessed once per visit to the area, so you'll have to re-enter and press X every time you wish to see it again.

Get new costumes
Start an A Scenario with either Leon or Claire. Start the game, but DON'T COLLECT A SINGLE ITEM. Don't collect the weapon in the Gun Shop, any ammo. Go to the Police Station and down the stairs in the courtyard. A zombified Brad will be there. Kill him one way or another (by collect ammo in the RPD or stabbing him). Collect his ''Special Key'' and take it to the RPD Darkroom. Open the locked by the door and you get new costumes!

When you use the Custom Parts to upgrade the gun, the magazine will automatically be fully loaded. This may seem like a small amount of ammo, but it goes a long way in the harder difficuties in which ammo is more scarce.

Unlock SMG with unlimited ammo
To get the SMG with unlimited ammo, beat either character's B game in under 3 hours with either an A or B ranking. You will see a special display telling you that you have unlocked it. It will be in the item box in the next game.

Unlock Gattling Gun with unlimited ammo
To unlock the Gattling Gun, beat either character's B game in under 3 hours with an A ranking. You will see a special display after you beat the game telling you you got it. The gattling gun shoots buttloads of bullets at an enemy, and is very useful against a lot of enemies. It will be in the item box in the next new game.

To get the secret film you must enter the S.T.A.R.S office and walk over to Wesker's desk. Keep searching until the 50th time and you will get a roll of film. When you take it to the dark room and develop it you will notice that it is a picture of Rebecca Chambers from the Bravo Team.

Secret Uniform - More Information
For Claire or Leon, start game on NORMAL diffculty and go to the police station without picking up any items (shotgun, bowgun, bullets, etc). You can pick the herb in the bushes by the police station's front door. In the alleyway/tunnel in the police station's front area, there will be a zombie that gives you a special key when you kill it. This zombie is Brad Vickers from S.T.A.R.S. He is harder to kill, taking about 20 bullets. Take this key to the darkroom in the Police Station, under the staircase. There is a closet there and you can change your clothes. *For Claire, you get a new costume (biker outfit) and the Colt S.A.A., a revolver fired from the hips with a quick draw. It fires faster that the handgun and uses handgun bullets. *For Leon, you get 2 new costumes (leather jacket, tank top) and you have the ability to fire the handgun with 1 hand (right hand). The ability to fire with one hand greatly increases the handgun's rate of fire.

Infinite Ammo
During gameplay hit "Select" to enter the option menu. Go to the "Key Config" option and select it.
Now hold the "R1" button and press the "Square" button 10 times. Once you have successfully entered the cheat the letters "Manual or Auto" should change colors from white to red.
Now every weapon in the game will have infinite ammo.
