  1. Replenish health during Ninja fight

When fighting the Ninja in the computer room, go to the top right corner of the room and shoot Mario on top of the computer to replenish your health. If you shoot Yoshi, you will hear his voice.

  2. Cameo: GC and WaveBird controller

Go into Otacon's lab (where you fought the ninja), then go to the middle desk and look at the monitor. There you will see a Gamecube with a WaveBird controller next to it.

  3. Cameo: Alex from Eternal Darkness

Lay any book on the ground, then go into first person view. Look at the magazine and you will see Alexander Roivas from Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem.

  4. Different Psyco Mantis sayings

Have either a Eternal Darkness, Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine, or Super Smash Bros. Melee save on the memory card you are using to save, and he will mention them before the boss fight.

  5. Cameo: Mario and Yoshi

In Otacons lab, you can find Mario and Yoshi figurines on top of a computer monitor. If you zoom in on Mario's head and shoot it, a 1-up message will appear over his head, and it'll automatically replenish some of your health.

  6. Eternal Darkness Poster

In the armory room is a room full of nikita equipment. Inside is a locker. Open it up and there will be an Eternal Darkness poster inside.

  7. ZOE 2: The Second Runner Cameo

In the fight against the Ninja you can see a poster hanging from the back wall from Zone of Enders 2: The Second Runner.

  8. Developer Cameos

In the room where you fight Psycho Mantis, the portraits on the back wall are(left to right) cut-scene director Ryuhei Kitamura, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, and president of Silicon Knights, Denis Dyack.

  9. Cutscene Zoom

During any cutscene you can zoom the camera in with the R button and move it around with the C-stick.

  10. A more useful cardboard box

When you're in the cave area with Meryl, hit her and quickly equip a cardboard box. She'll order a wolf to attack you, but if you're in a box, a wolf will pee on it instead. Now whenever that box is equipped the wolves will no longer attack you.

  11. Easily cross mine fields.

If you want to easily cross mine fields, but you don't have the mine detector, just crawl on the ground where you believe mines are. Not only will receive no damage, but you'll also automatically collect all mines you crawl over!

  12. Higher Grip Lv.

When you hang from a ledge, do 100 pull ups (L + R). They have to be good pull ups. Grip Lv "3" is the maximum grip Lv.
Tip: In grip Lv1, you can only fit 4 good pull ups. Dont rush it. Once Snake does a good pull up let go of both buttoms, not just one.

  13. Creep Out Meryl:

Right before entering the room where you fight Psycho Mantis, stare at Meryl in first person mode and she will tell you that you are creeping her out and to stop doing that.

  14. Otacon's Ending

To view Otacon's Ending instead of Meryl's ending after completing the game, submit to Ocelot's torture after being captured.

  15. Underwater gas mask

If you put on your gas mask while under water, your O2 gauge will decrease slower, just like it would while in a room filled with gas.

  16. Snake's Haircut

In the 'Briefing' section in the title menu, watch every video available, including ones that are added to the list as you've watched more. Once you've seen every video (they will all have a check mark in the box next to them), choose 'Exit' from the list. You will then hear a hidden conversation that explains why Snake's haircut is different from how it appeared in Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

  17. See Meryl's Underwear

When you first get to the Holding Cells area, and are going through the ventilation shafts to get to the DARPA Chief's cell, you will see a cutscene of Meryl in a prison cell, doing exercises. After the scene ends, you can look down into the cell to view her exercises anytime. If you go back out the cells the way you came in, and then come back to the vent above Meryl's cell, she will not have any pants on when you look down at her.

  18. Cardboard Box Uses

You can use the cardboard boxes you find for transportation. Simply equip the cardboard box that corresponds with where you want to go (there are three boxes in total - one labeled 'Helipad,' one labeled 'Nuke Building,' and one labeled 'Snowfield') when you are inside the back of one of the parked trucks. Eventually, a guard will appear, and you will be transported to the area labeled on your box.

  19. Repel wolfs with sniper wolf hanky

when you go backtracking through the cavern after getting Sniper wolf's hanky. Equip it and the wolves think you're Sniper wolf and will appear to love you.

  20. Extra Damage to Ninja

If you have a weapon equipped and press "B" to punch Ninja, you'll deal extra damage to him. The nikita is the strongest, though it is very slow. FAMAS and Socom are the same speed, but the FAMAS is more powerful.

  21. Easier ninja

While fighting the ninja throw a chaff grenade and he will freeze letting you hit him.Once you hit him he will falls to his knees and won't get up until all the yellow dust from the chaff grenade has fallen.

  22. Make Mei Ling Angry

If you call Mei Ling three times in a row and choose not to save, she'll yell at you for calling her for no reason. After this, she will stick her tongue out at you occasionally.

Also, right after you follow Meryl into the women's room, but before you trigger the cut scene, call Mei Ling and she'll yell at you for being a pervert, and won't let you save your game.

  23. Spotting Mines without the Mine Detector

You can use the thermal goggles to actually see the mines.

  24. Control camera during briefing.

Select briefing from the main menu. Then press the LEFT TRIGGER or RIGHT TRIGGER to switch between 4 cameras.Use the analog stick or D-PAD to move the camera around.

  25. PAL Key Shortcut

Late in the game, you're tasked with freezing and heating up the PAL Key. Normally, this involves you backtracking to a cold area, returning to the control room to input the PAL Key, backtracking to the Blast Furnace, and then return to the control room again. However, there is a hidden area that makes this much easier. When you leave the control room, don't climb back down. Instead, stay on the walkway, go behind Metal Gear REX, and keep walking until you're near the end. Flip over the railing, and you'll see a hidden railing/walkway beneath you. Drop from the top railing, and then catch the lower railing to reach the walkway. There will be two labeled pipes on the wall: a blue pipe for liquid nitrogen, and a red pipe for steam. Shooting these while having the PAL Key equipped will let you freeze or heat it respectively, and without having to leave the room.

  26. Cracked Camera

If you get shot to death while in first person mode, the camera lens may get cracked.

  27. Ghost Babel In Otacon's Lab

Once you get the chance to explore Otacon's Lab, look closely at the book/magazine shelf in the southeast corner. You'll find the box art for Metal Gear: Ghost Babel on some of the covers.

  28. Thawing Rations In The Bathroom

If your rations get frozen, the standard method of thawing requires you to keep them equipped until Snake's body heat affects them. Or you can go all the way to the Blast Furnace. But if you manage to get your rations frozen early on in the game, there is one other method: the hand dyers. Simply go to the bathroom, equip the frozen rations, and activate the machines. The heat will thaw them out quickly.

  29. Steamed Ocelot

If you're having trouble with Ocelot, try shooting the pipes that he stands next to. Doing so will release steam into his face, which temporarily stuns and blinds him. It deals a little bit of damage, but leaves him wide open for a follow-up shot.

  30. A Book For Ocelot

If you're having trouble with Ocelot, try leaving a book in his path. He'll stop, stare, and whistle at what he sees, leaving himself wide open.

  31. Ropeless Descent

When you reach the section where you're supposed to rappel down the tower, the normal/original method is to equip the rope and slowly make your way down. However, there's an optional method in this version. If you don't have the rope, simply hanging off the ledge, let Snake drop, and then catch the railing underneath him. If you're careful, you can repeat this trick until Snake safely reaches the next section.

  32. Shut Off Tank Hangar Lasers

To progress past the Tank Hangar, you're tasked with crossing a room equipped with infrared laser sensors and poison gas. The standard/original method is to equip Snake's cigarettes and let the smoke reveal the lasers. However, this version gives you another option. Look closely at the walls next to where the lasers are emitted from; you'll see their control unit boxes on the floor. Destroying them will shut off the lasers, which makes the room far easier.

  33. Silicon Knights Site

Go to the 2nd floor of the Tank Hangar and look for a room that requires the Level 2 Key. Go inside and look at the computer monitor. You'll find that it's displaying the Silicon Knights site.

  34. Raven Codecs

When you're on the cargo elevator on the way down to the Vulcan Raven fight, take the time to kill several of the ravens around you. The easiest way is to use a Stun Grenade to incapacitate all of them at the same time, and then shoot them individually. This will eventually trigger a call from Campbell and Naomi, who will be utterly disgusted by you. Also, an extra line will be added to Vulcan Raven's pre-battle cutscene; he'll yell at you for killing his friends.

Alternatively, you can call Master Miller while on the cargo elevator. Snake will refer to the birds as crows, but Miller will correct him and explain that particular species of raven. This brief lecture will only appear if you call him while on the elevator, but before he calls to warn Snake about Naomi. If done correctly, he'll do the raven lecture first, and then say, "By the way..." and segue into the scripted Naomi conversation all within the same codec call. Also, any references to crows will be changed to ravens from that point forward.

  35. Shooting Searchlights

In the original version of the game, you had to carefully evade searchlights when infiltrating the Heliport. In Twin Snakes, however, you can get past them with a far more direct method. Just aim in first person and simply shoot out the lights. While you still have to worry about being seen or heard, this will make the Heliport area much easier. This trick can work on other lights throughout Shadow Moses as well.
