Final Fantasy VI Cheats For Super Nintendo

  1. Instantly kill enemies

First you need the Vanish spell and the Doom spell. (X-Zone could also work) Cast Vanish on the enemy and then cast Doom on the vanished target. This also works on about 95% of bosses!

    Contributed by: BrakZero

  2. Door timer glitch

Whenever there is a timer running in the background, for example when Cid needs to be fed fish, the timer will be saved when saving the game. However, there is a glitch involving when the timer is loaded. The timer will load when the save file is selected, before the save file is confirmed. This can be used to load the timer into other save files: select the file with the timer, cancel out, then select another file and confirm.

If the timer ending does not cause a cutscene to play, then at the exact moment that it occurs, the player will be able to move onto tiles tagged as "events", something that usually can't be done. A notable example of an event tile is the man guarding the basement in Figaro. If you use the glitch to go past him into the basement, then when you exit Figaro you will be in the World of Ruin, skipping most of the game. Another notable example is that when you sleep in the tent, there is an event tile immediately below the tent that will take you to the point in the game where the Floating Continent emerges.

  3. Get lots of items

When you have Vanish and Relm, go into battle, have one other character cast vanish on a desired opponent then have Relm Sketch that opponent and QUICKLY run away, check your items and voila! *Note, may not work on all carts. 1/1000 chance of freezing the game.

    Contributed by: DJellybean

  4. Another Game Glitch

Put Gau and Relm in the same party. Have Gau jump on an opponent. Fight until he comes back, but before he does his little speech, have Relm sketch him. If your game is glitchable, then there is a chance at switched up character sprites and/or many items added to inventory after the battle. I recieved 255 MagicBoxes and 255 Atmas Weapons this way the 5th time I did it. (Note this only works on the early carts. Will not work on all carts.)

    Contributed by: Psycho

  5. Evade Glitch

On all versions of the SNES cartridge, the evade% stat has no effect.
All algorithms use MBlock% to calculate dodging/blocking an attack, magical or physical.
128% is where MBlock% is maxed at effectiveness (higher isn't worse, it just isn't any more effective)

Therefore, equip your characters to 128 MBlock% or higher and you'll be nearly invincible (block or dodge any unblockable attack.)

  6. Easy Level Ups

Note: you must have a turbo controller to do this trick

When you make it to the Lete River, set your window commands to "Short" and switch Banon's "Health" and "Attack" then switch the commands back to "Window" so you can have Banon's Health as the default command. When you get to a point where you have a choice of going "Straight" or Left set your controller to turbo and tape down the A button. Leave your game on overnight and you will likely be around level 50-60.

  7. Psycho Cyan

In a battle, have Cyan use Retort, then cast Imp on him. Then use an attack that kills him without triggering Retort, such as magic, or killing him in one hit. Now revive him and use the Fight command with anyone. Cyan will counterattack every move that is made, including his own. In other words, Cyan will attack his enemies over and over again, uninterrupted, until they are all dead.

  8. Double Mp with Runic!!

Equip Celes with a Cursed Shield. If she absorbs (with runic)a spell the shield makes her weak against (fire is what i used) she gets back double the mp of the spell.

    Contributed by: BAHAMUTSTEAR

  9. Save anywhere in Kefka's Tower

First start by getting one of your groups onto a save point. Now cycle through the groups until you arrive back at the one on the save point. Switch groups one more time and go to the party screen and the "Save" command should be useable (and you can even use Tents!). Even after walking around and getting into a battle, the Save command should still be available.

  10. Save Cid

When you are supposed to catch some fish for Cid, behind the scenes there is a timer that starts at 120 seconds and decreases whenever you are not in a menu or in battle. Feeding Cid the fastest fish (described as "A yummy fish" in the SNES version, "A delicious fish" in other versions) will increase the timer by 32 seconds. Feeding Cid the medium-speed fish described as "Just a Fish" (SNES) or "An ordinary fish" (GBA) will increase the timer by 16 seconds. The other two types of fish will decrease the timer. Talking to Cid will reset the fish in the water.

If the timer is below 30 seconds when you enter the cabin, Cid will be dead. If the timer goes about 255 seconds, Cid will be saved.

  11. Save a Character (spoilers)

As the world is collapsing on the Floating Continent, and you have six minutes to get off, make your way to the very end where you can jump down to the airship. Instead of jumping, wait and do not move. When there is five seconds left on the clock Shadow will appear and jump down to the airship with you instead of dying.

  12. Easy Win - Wrexsoul

When fighting the Wrexsoul in Cyan's dreams at Doma in the World of Ruin, there is a glitch involving his Gi Nattak attack. In this attack, the Wrexsoul will possess one of your four characters for a time until he kills them. If, in that time, you defeat all of the enemies allying him, you will automatically win the battle despite not having killed Wrexsoul himself. (Note: You will not gain any of the rewards normally associated with Wrexsoul's defeat.)

  13. Equip Anything Glitch - JP Versions Only

To begin with, sell everything that the intended character you wish to put something on can equip. Next, put the desired "equip anything" item in the final bottom-rightmost slot of the items menu, slot #256. This item can be literally ANYTHING you want, even things that cannot be equipped, such as the Drill item. After doing this, press Optimize and the item will stay there and can be equipped by the person with no equipment in any particular area of their equipment. For example, the aforementioned Drill can be taken on as a helmet. Depending on the item, a huge variety of stat changes can occur: once again, the Drill actually makes your Defense and Magic Defense go to 255, meaning almost every attack only deals 1 damage!

  14. 0 HP Character Glitch

The 0 HP Character Glitch provides a means by which a character can achieve 0 HP, but still remain alive according to the game and thereby also be invulnerable (as KO'ed characters cannot be targeted or harmed). This will last until the character is healed by some means, such as a Potion or Cure in the field. There are several ways in which to do this.

The most feasible method of doing so requires the use of Doom and Jump. When a character afflicted by Doom has Jump, have them use Jump as their Doom counter nears zero. If the counter reaches zero while the character is in the air, and after that point but before the execution of the actual Jump attack the battle ends, then the character will be invulnerable.

Another feasible method requires the use of the Zombie and Petrified statuses and cures for these. When a party member is Zombified, they should then be Petrified. Then you should cure their Zombification through a Holy Water and their Petrification through any desired means. This will also induce the glitch.

    Contributed by: Anonymous

  15. Quick bug

When you use the 'Quick' spell, time stops until you finish your second turn. However they left the counters for various statuses running. This means if you don't select anything, poisoned enemies will keep taking DoT until they die. This works on ALL end game monsters vulnerable to poison, making it an especially cheap, though somewhat slow, means of killing Brachiosaur when not over leveled. Also works on all end game monsters in boxes (Tonberries, Master Tonberry, Samurai Soul), Yeti, most of the dragons (Red, Blue, Ice, Earth & Gold) and Statue of the Gods E.

  16. Pincer Battle Row Glitch

Typically during a pincer battle - a battle in which enemies are on both sides of the party - there is supposed to be only one singular row, rather than the front and back row. Despite this, you can still select the Row option in battle: everyone will initially be in the front row, and now in the back row, quickly halving the damage each take, even though there was no true position change.

    Contributed by: Anonymous

  17. Event Bypassing

Let us assume you have a tile you wish to bypass: this tile can be a tile which triggers an event - such as a boss - or you simply a wall you wish to walk through. If you open the menu and quickly press the direction in which you desire to move as it loads, you can walk in the direction chosen, but the game's hit detection will fail, allowing you to walk into and through walls with repeated use and to also bypass various event battles.

The most famous instance of this glitch is known to many fans as the "Moghan glitch", in which Locke is able to bypass the guards in South Figaro and head to South Figaro Cave without Celes and in turn instead have Moghan. However, this glitch is also abusable in a number of other instances.

    Contributed by: Anonymous

  18. Enemy Revival Glitch

To execute this glitch, you must put Reraise on an undead enemy: this can be done through Rippler to trade Reraise from someone, at least most reliably. Then you must use an instant-death attack or spell on the same foe: the foe will die, then return to life, and then die again because Reraise auto-revived it and Life is Death for the undead. This causes the game to consider that the foe was killed twice, doubling the received rewards.

    Contributed by: Anonymous

  19. Prevent Organyx From Breaking

To prevent Organyx from breaking, you can put it in a character's right hand, then also equip them with the Dragoon Boots but without the Dragon Horn. The sword will now never break because it was encoded improperly for this situation, where it is meant to check the left hand here.

    Contributed by: Anonymous

  20. Jump Glitch

Normally, Jump is only intended to double the damage earned from spear-class weapons; however, this can be extended to any weapon so long as the wielder can hold two weapons. If you equip two weapons, one of whom is a spear, the second weapon's damage also is doubled by Jump. Other exploits can be derived from Jump's accumulation of active weapons' properties; for example, if someone uses Mug while someone is Jumping, all Jumps from there on will also have the effects of Mug.

    Contributed by: Anonymous

  21. Equipment Immunity-Granting Glitch

Normally, two pieces of equipment - the Force Shield and Cursed Shield - are supposed to grant status ailments in battle. The Cursed Shield is the one you'll want to most use with this glitch, since it only grants bad ailments, whereas the Force Shield grants the positive one in Shell. If you equip the Cursed Shield in the middle of battle - not before, DURING - you will instead be granted immunity to all of the ailments it gives, which is most of the ailments in the game!

    Contributed by: Anonymous

  22. Airship Glitch

This glitch will allow you to obtain the Blackjack at an early point in the game, should you so desire. To execute this glitch, you must first save the game in the overworld at the first possible opportunity: this point (which can be shifted, but is ideally done early) is the point in the game where you'll have the Blackjack. From this point on, you must play the game without saving until you reach the Floating Continent: at this point, you must travel along it until you can get onto the Blackjack. Get on it and fly around for a while in it without landing - 10 minutes is sufficient - and then return to the Floating Continent. There, get a Game Over.

You will then restart gameplay from the point of the initial save, with one key change: you are aboard the Blackjack! Several features will be restricted to you, such as entering the interior and re-entering the airship after landing it. This has a number of benefits despite this. For example, you can fly to an area in the game to skip all events up to that point (Zozo being the latest allowed). You can also bring temporary characters - such as Leo or Banon - to other, early points in the game by flying.

Final Fantasy VI Cheats For Game Boy Advance

  1. Defeating Intangir with the Confuse-Smoke Bomb glitch.

In the Gameboy Advance version of Final Fantasy 6, the Vanish-doom trick used to kill Intangir in the SNES and Playstation 1 will no longer work. However you can still kill Intangir, first go to Triangle Island and walk around until you encounter Intangir, once you're in the battle, cast the Confuse spell on the character you will use, then wait until your character gets hit with the Confuse spell, while the Confuse spell is cast, quickly go to the item menu and select the Smoke Bomb item. Due to a glitch in the game, Your character will be confused and will use the smoke bomb item on Intangir which will kill Intangir but, it will counter attack with Meteor. Use this trick to quickly earn 10 AP magic points for your characters magic spells early on in the World of Balance.

  2. Soul Shrine

Clear the Dragon's Den and beat the game. This secret dungeon is located on one of the small islands at North of Mobliz.

  3. Dragon's Den

Defeat the 8 Dragons in the World of Ruin. This dungeon is located at North-West of the world map

    Contributed by: sephirosuy

  4. Save/Use Tents Virtually Anywhere in Multi-Team Dungeons

This neat little trick from FF3US for the SNES still works, and with the addition of the new post-game hidden dungeon, it's even more useful!

Have one of your teams in a multi-team dungeon move onto a Save Point. Next, switch over to one of your other teams. As long as you remain stationary with this second team, you can Save your game, or even better, use a Sleeping Bag or Tent for quick and easy healing!

Should your party move out of place or if you want to save/use a tent again later on, simply switch back to the team on the save point, switch back to the party you wish to save with/heal, remain on one space, then do as you will.

    Contributed by: 2D_Anubis

  5. Skip Kaiser Dragon (and Other Events)

This glitch will allow you to skip the obscenely-difficult battle against the Kaiser Dragon and in turn get the Diabolos Magicite it guards without battling. It would be prudent to save before this. You also should have the Sprint Shoes equipped and Auto-Dash in the Config menu on. First stand in front of the Kaiser Dragon. Then open the menu and quickly tap the D-Pad northward so as to attempt to get past him: if done correctly, you'll move into the Kaiser Dragon, and then can finish going through him to the Magicite.

This glitch also is abusable in a number of instances: this is merely the most functional of them. Note, however, that you must beat Kaiser to be able to reach the Soul Shrine or battle the Omega Weapon. You can use this glitch to go through walls and bypass tiles that trigger event battles to skip them.

  6. Psycho Cyan Advance

The famous glitch from the SNES version, revisited. This time, there's a new method to trigger it.

Step 1: In battle, kill Cyan.
    Step 2: Revive Cyan.
Step 3: Have Cyan use his Level 2 Bushido, "Sky," previously known as "Retort."
Step 4: Cast "Imp" on Cyan.
Step 5: Watch in awe as Cyan loses his mind and proceeds to attack continuously, uninterrupted, until every enemy is dead.

This glitch is the result of two smaller bugs involving "Imp" Status and being revived in combat; one that makes Cyan counter with physical attacks, rather than the "Sky" move, and another that makes Cyan counter any move performed by any character, not just a physical attack from the enemy to Cyan. As you can see, activating this glitch is done differently from the original SNES version of the game, but it results in the same thing: Cyan countering his own counterattack over and over again, until the battle is won.

    Contributed by: Lucid_Faia

  7. Mantra Abuse

To be able to use this glitch, Sabin must know the Blitz Mantra. You should have Sabin input the command sequence for Mantra and then, as soon as possible, have someone else Confuse him, preferably an ally for the sake of keeping the situation controlled. When Sabin does use his Blitz, it would, under most circumstances, be intended to heal the foe rather than the party because he is Confused; however, due to poor coding, it will actually deal damage to the foes: most importantly, if there is only one foe, for example, then 65,535 damage will be dealt (though it is shown as 9999). Otherwise, the damage calculation is as normal: Sabin's HP divided by the number of foes minus one, although the "one foe" instance causes a division by zero which forces maximum damage.

    Contributed by: Anonymous

  8. Level Resetting

This glitch can be used to reset a character's level in a given save file: however, note I say only "level". Only the character's level will reset, and all their other stats and anything about them - other than Level and EXP. - will be unaffected. This in turn makes it very possible to maximize a character's stats without intense optimization of Esper stat growth as you only need to continue leveling up. This is because leveling up is only based upon stat increments rather than pre-set statistics.

To begin this glitch, you must save and then quicksave your game. Return to the title screen and start a New Game and continue along it for a while. This length of time must be as long as it takes to recruit the character whose level you wish to reset on the originally-saved file, and you cannot save during this entire interval: thus, it is most practical to do this with early characters, such as Terra and Locke. Once the desired character joins the party, you now need to earn a Game Over. This will send you to the last time you saved (that is, the initial save), with the joined characters at the level they were at in the New Game file. However, only their level will be overwritten, making it possible to continue upgrading their level and further increasing their stats from the original stats pre-glitch.

  9. Item Duplication

At the end of the game, it is possible to duplication equipment en masse. Note that you must have this duplicated equipment on Terra. During the tiered, sequence battle at the end of the game, end each battle such that only Terra is alive. When the final battle starts, you'll find that there are two Terras in the fight. The equipment of this second Terra can be removed without affecting that of the first, although you must also unequip the first. (You only need to do the unequipping before the end: you can do this just before the battle's end if you know the final boss's HP and then estimate when he is near-dead and unequip then.)

  10. Unlockables

Perform the stated task in order to unlock a new option, which will then be available in the main menu, under "Extra".

    Unlockable Unlockable
    Save the game once. Bestiary
    Complete the game. Music Player

Final Fantasy VI Cheats For iOS (iPhone/iPad)

  1. Equip espers on Gogo or Umaro

First touch equip or status in the menu with Gogo or Umaro in your party, then before you select a character in either sub menu quickly touch the back button and where Gogo or Umaro would equip an esper. If done correctly you should highlight a blank box and go into the esper equip menu. Although neither can actually learn the spells espers teach, they can however gain the stat boost upon level up.

  2. 0 HP Character Glitch

This can be done with Gau. When he has leapt away from the party on the Veldt, in the battle on which Gau would return the player should induce Zombie on one of their characters and kill off the rest of the party. In turn, this causes you to have a party with a lone 0 HP-but-alive character.
