Final Fantasy III Cheats For NES

  1. Poison Glitch (JP version)

Have 4 dragoons or less as your party and have one of them get poisoned. Then have everyone jump. This should make them all stay in the air, out of harm's way, but still taking damage from the poison.

    Contributed by: Dragon

  2. Mutually Exclusive Status Ailments

A character inflicted with the blind or mute status cannot be inflicted with the other or with the poison status. Does not affect other status ailments such as petrify sleep or confuse.

    Contributed by: XenoManx

  3. Copy Magic & Unlimited Gil

Requirements: Sight and a white magic user

Give Sight to a character that can use it along with the spells you want to duplicate. In the Magic menu remove the spells that you want duplicated and use Sight without leaving that menu. Now you should still have the spells in the Magic menu and a copy in the Item menu. For unlimited Gil copy and sell expensive spells.

  4. Free Elixers

After you defeat the Death Wizard, return to Argas Castle. Switch your white mage to the front of your party and open the locked doors. In one of the doors is another white mage. Talk to him to get elixirs.

  5. The Secret of Altar Cave

After you beat the giant turtle, change your party's jobs and enter the cave again after leaving to get more treasure. Inside is your first spell and several good weapons. There are a few spots in the cave that obviously look like dead ends, but are actually fake walls filled with treasure chests.

  6. Jumping Cid.

In Canaan, after saving Cid's grandma/wife, Cid will jump out of the way revealing a secret storage room. If you keep talking to him after the first jump, he will continue to jump each time you talk to him. Eventually he will jump out of him house into the darkness of the night. Like a ninja.

  7. Secret Message

Hold Up-Left + Select + Start and Power On the console. At the black screen, release the Select button to see the hidden message.

  8. Inventory Overflow Glitch

This glitch is a severe glitch in the game that rewrites various memory addresses in the game, making teleportation and starting the ending possible as well as ending every battle, even bosses. It also requires you to have some money; enough can be obtained from the start dungeon, grinding on enemies, and various other means. First open and close the status screen one square north of Ur. Go into the town and play the piano. Then head to the shops and, in this order, buy one Potion, two Eye Drops, two Antidotes, twenty Leather Shields, twenty Daggers, and one Longsword. Next, alter the in-game inventory by arranging them items so that they read Leather Shields, Daggers, Eye Drops, Antidotes, an empty slot, Longsword, and Potion. Equip the second party member with two Leather Shields, thereby making a knife fall into the empty slot of the inventory. Cause a battle in Ur and, in the battle, make the first party member use a knife. Iteratively fill the inventory by taking on and putting off Daggers and Leather Shields. Once filled, cancel the party members' actions, which will cause the knife to return to the inventory. However, because the inventory is completely full, the knife's data is rewritten to the data concerning the first character's job. Cancel commands twice to use the command of the first character, which automatically ends the battle.

  9. EXP. Overflow Glitch

For this glitch, get 99 Potions and put them in the bottom-rightmost slot of the inventory whilst in the field. Enter a battle with an enemy that rewards a Potion for winning. As a result, an overflow occurs in which the first character of the party has their EXP. altered such that the item ID of the item (i.e. 166 for the Potion) becomes part of their EXP. in a weird way. What this means is that the item's ID, raised to the power of four is added to the EXP. In this example, the first character will gain 65536 times the item ID of 166, or 10,878,976 EXP. (Since this is above the max of 9,999,999 EXP., it will be reset to this max later. You'll also be given Level 99 - note that you can only gain one level per battle, however.)

  10. Peninsula of Power

This Peninsula of Power glitch can be accessed after finishing Goldor Manor. From Amur, fly north and you'll find an area looking vaguely like a peninsula. Because of how the enemy encounters in this game are encoded - on a gridular basis, same as FFI and FFII - this one-tile-wide land strip will have monsters fought around Crystal Tower, near the end of the game. You can abuse this glitch for quick leveling and the obtaining of late-game item drops and Gil.

    Contributed by: KeyBlade999

  11. Magic Duplication Glitch

This glitch will allow you to clone your magic spells, and in turn be able to use them to generate large amounts of money. First, you must be able to use Sight. Go into the menu when you can use Sight and remove all of your magic, then use Sight: your magic will suddenly reappear, and it will also be in your inventory, allowing you to sell it for money!

    Contributed by: KeyBlade999

  12. Equipment Element Glitch

If a player equips a shield in their right hand and a weapon in their left hand, the weapon's elemental property is ignored completely. This is abusable since you can equip weaponry now without fear of accidentally healing foes.

    Contributed by: KeyBlade999

  13. Max HP Overflow Glitch

Firstly, your character needs to have 9,999,999 EXP. for this glitch to work properly to give you 9,999 HP on the first character. Put 99 Potions at the bottom-rightmost slot of the inventory, then fight a battle in which you can and do earn two or more additional Potions. The data in the Potions overflows to your EXP. - but that is full, so it further overflows to HP, which is immediately set to 9,999.

    Contributed by: KeyBlade999

  14. Item Data Overflow Glitch

This glitch will use a type of overflowing technique that rewrites the data for items and modifies it to have other items. (For the sake of simplicity, items are named; any items can be used for this glitch.) First, you must have 99 of an item that can be won from an enemy (i.e. Potions). Then when you beat an enemy that drops a Potion, the data for the gained Potion overflows another part of the game in a mismatched way. You basically end up having now 166 (the Potion's item ID number) of nothing, assuming nothing is below the first the top-left slot in the items menu (in the field). However, if you place an item in the slot below the top-left slot in the field, with the 99 Potions in the top-left slot, and then gain another, the former's item ID is altered by however many Potions you earned. For example, if you have four Leather Helmets below the Potions, and get one Potion, you will end up with four Onion Helmets!

Final Fantasy III Cheats For DS

  1. 5x free Mini and Toad spells

When you first get the Mini spell from Desch, continue exploring until you find a forest with a gnome and a healing spring. He will tell you how to reach Tozus. If you have not taught yourself Mini, he will not give you anything. If you taught yourself Mini, he will supply you with another Mini spell. You can do the same with the Toad spell that you recieve from one of the blind men in Gulgan Gulch. You can do this trick up to four times if you wish, scoring one Mini/Toad spell per party member and one for your inventory.

This glitch works as if the game (which only counts whats in the inventory in this instance) thinks that you have originally sold/trashed the original Mini/Toad spell that you were supplied with.

  2. Dive into Saronia? o_0

YOU MUST HAVE THE NAUTILUS FIRST. SAVE BEFORE DOING THIS.

If you take the nautilus and head to the western side of Saronia (the continent with the castle on it, upper left corner of map, not on the floating continent), there's an area with the most trees on that side. There should be a place between two rivers. If you touch down on the tip of this area that touches the ocean, you can actually dive into it. From there, you can 'bore' into the continent. If you exit into the ocean, it will push you out and you have to dive into the continent again. When tunneling through the continent, you won't encounter any creatures, as far as I can tell.

It is possible to surface at any point within the continent. In fact, you can surface through mountains. Like diving into the continent, entering an area you can normally fly around in will shove you out of the other area and not let you back. With enough skill and dumb luck, you can actually get to Falgabard without the Invincible. Of course, you can't leave after that, but hey, it's still funny.

  3. How to obtain access to secret dungeon

In the Nintendo DS version of FFIII, there is a secret dungeon that contains a secret boss harder than the last boss, in order to obtain access:

1)Send a total 7 mails to another PC (one or multiple) using Mog Net.
2)Send 4 mails using Mog Net to the NPC: The 4 Elderly
3)Send 4 mails to King Arusu and after reading the fourth one, you'll unlock a quest
4)Go ride on the airship that can go underwater
5)Head for the floating island and once finding it, go exactly east..
6)You will eventually see a shadow in the waters, once you do go underwater to enter the cave
7)Soon after entering the dungeon, you will meet the secret boss

*This boss is notorious and mean. It does a total of 4 attacks per sound and also uses Meteo. Please be at a very high level before attempting this fight.

  4. How to obtain secret job: Onion Swordsman

Back in the original Famicom FFIII, Onion Swordsman was the first job you start as (unlike Freelance from the DS version), but you can play this job in the Nintendo DS version as well by unlocking it. Onion Swordsman is one of the most powerful jobs with the Onion Equipment + past level 90's.

    How to obtain:
1)Register someone elses's (or multiple) communication ID under Mog Net.
2)Send message to another PC 7 times
3)Send and receive 4 messages from Topapa, on the fourth one you will receive a message to do a mini-quest.
4)Go to Ur (First town in the game)
    5)Talk to Topapa
6)Go to the cave up north of the cave
7)At the drop hole, you will have an event and then will be proceeded to fight 3 bombs
8)After the battle, you will obtain a piece of crystal, which will unlock Onion Swordsman

  5. Item Duplication

*WARNING: This item duplication will ruin the game play, please note to do this at your own risk. If may also damage your save file so please duplicate your save before you attempt this.

In Final Fantasy III, all useable items (not weapons/armors/magic) can be duped using this method, as mentioned, please use at your own risk.

    Procedures:
    1)Open menu screen via non-battle.
    2)Select "Items"
3)Put the item you want to duplicate in the very top left corner in your item list
    4)Enter a battle randomly
5)When in battle, go select "Item" on any characters.
6)Your cursor should be at the very top left of the item box, the item you have placed there. Once you're here, hit UP and A button at the same time
7)This will briefly take you to Wepon/Shield list (about 1/2 second). If you see this, the code has worked after you hit "cancel' or B button. Go to your invetory and you will notice that the item quantity has been added by one.

With this method you are able to duplicate any demishable items, even items you can't by such as Chocobo's Rage, Elixir, Phoenix Down. Note: This doesn't work in the PAL version of the game.

Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster Cheats For Nintendo Switch

  1. Easy JOB Level Up

First, make sure your characters are in whichever JOB they want to be (e.g. Onion Knight), give them proper weapons, and an easy place to heal without spending much on Gil (money). Choose a comfortable location to fight enemies (e.g., Altar Cave - B2).
Then, make sure that one character (doesn't matter which one) does the ATTACKing and the other three choose DEFEND (or a similar ability) and then choose Auto-Battle, rinse and repeat as the progress shows until the team all reaches to JOB Level 99.
It may be a tedious process and some JOBs may differ, but it will make your team better fighters in the long run.
