What Gamespot Users have to say about Eternal Sonata

Rating:8.5
With beautiful artistic vision, an engaging combat system, and an offbeat story, Eternal Sonata is easy to recommend.
If I asked you to list games inspired by musicians, it would be simple to cite the multiple rhythm based games currently on the market. On the more obscure end, you have Eternal Sonata, a RPG with a story that revolves a... Read Full Review

decent game, but i doubt i'll ever play it again.
eternal sonata seemed interesting at first, i really liked the way they tied in Chopin's music and some of his history, but after a while it was kinda like, uhh, when's it gonna end? i did like the graphics, the music,... Read Full Review

Other than nice visuals, it doesn't have much to offer
I like RPGs. I like them for the ability to immerse you into an entirely different world, involve you into the story line, let you be someone entirely different or be yourself, for ability to change the world through you... Read Full Review

I don't get much RPG's that make me cry for more when I end the story.
This RPG has the basic load of fantasy that's kind of charming to see for this kind of genre. The only annoying thing (here I go again...) is that the Polka girl has to be so damn innocent. That's really cliche...but bes... Read Full Review

"Hehehe. You're too slow"
What can I say? A pretty innovative battle system with an interesting premise. Add polish and the game is automatically saved from getting a score lower than an 8.5 from me. That's when it ends though. The gameplay is... Read Full Review

Hock, line and sinker....then the fish lets go..??!!??
This game is the very 1st game I play on the xbox 360 in which i finish. And for an RPG it covered most of what should have been in it. Looks great and plays great, but the one thing that really lets the air out of the b... Read Full Review

How Did They Manage To Turn Francois Chopin's Death Into A Good RPG?
Anyone who researches Francois Chopin will know he was a highly reputed composer. He slipped into a deep sleep and would never wake from it, dying at a very young age. Yet he is regarded as one of the greatest musical mi... Read Full Review

If your new to RPG's it's worth picking up. But if your a Hardcore RPG fan you'll find this game really short.
A year or so later Eternal Sonata gets a port for the Playstation 3 for those who didn't get the chance to play this RPG or don't own an Xbox. With the Xbox 360 version being a success back in 2007 there has been a few c... Read Full Review

gorgeous graphics and excellent gameplay with a clever musical theme threaded throughout
One of the few really solid JRPG's for the 360, this game has everything we could wish for - stunning graphics, great battle system, and NO random battles! Story wise, it's a little flat - a lot of buildup and long c... Read Full Review
