It is a remake gone bad
If u guys ever played caesar 3. It is still the best roman genre city builders. Graphics are dumb for 2006. Has few bugs( Like cant directly click on buildings) . they could have made a better game than this if they just... Read Full Review

I had higher expectation for this game.....However, i agree with most of the reviews. It's dissapointing.
First, there are so many bugs that it can't be forgiven even it's a new release. The gameplay is simple. Just like many city-building games out there, it does not introduce any new and interesting concept. Also, I agree... Read Full Review

A good game when the women have the TV and you can't get on the 360.
Some of my favorite games over the years have been the Caesars, Zeus, and Poseidon. CivCity Rome is a decent ad to my collection, it will never be one of my favorites or live up to the hours I spent on Zeus and Poseidon... Read Full Review

Too little complexity + Too little game time + Too few Civ attributes = Wait for Caesar IV
I like city-building games and I love Civilization, but CivCity: Rome (CCR) just doesn't meet my expectations. First off, this game takes nothing but the name from Civilization. So if you are thinking of buying this ga... Read Full Review

Total rip-off of Pharoah, except they left out the good parts.
Go play Pharaoh. It is better in most aspects. Instead of a push system of service to citizen it is the other way around; should this be better, it doesn’t seem like it. Also, managing the warehouses and granaries is a n... Read Full Review

The graphics are basic, the population is not to scale, and in the city there is not a woman to be found. Disapointing.
I was expecting a game like simcity i guess, except in roman times, but this was a total letdown, i didnt seem to get into it, the concept is great, and i would play this game if it were remade with all the problems solv... Read Full Review

Bugs, a bad tutorial, mediocre graphics and sound, and the worst an uninspired gameplay.
Fans of games like Caesar, Pharao, and Emperor will be disappointed by this game. Beside the bugs and the bad graphics, this game lacks in many ways compared to the former mentioned games. Following just a few things... Read Full Review

I can see what they were trying... but its just that...its trying! If they had only added in a bit more complexity!....
I was quite disappointed with this. Graphics are sloppy, you can’t pull out to get the kind of view that a lot of the screenshots seem to show, and I can’t changed the screen resolution to anything greater than 1280x102... Read Full Review

If you have played Stronghold, Crusader, or Stronghold 2, then you know how to play this game.
I played thie game for several hours, trying to convince myself that it was not an overglorified version of Stronghold 2, but in the end, all of the same elements are there. I found it difficult to call the game "fun". ... Read Full Review

Unoriginal, simple, and feels rushed.
I'll keep this short and sweet. The game play in CivCity Rome is extremely close to the Caesar games and all of their clones. The game is not very deep. The campain did not grab my attention at all. The tech tree s... Read Full Review
