Some of the mini games in this one are really good others… not so much.

User Rating: 6 | Game & Wario WIIU
I have never honestly played a whole lot of Wario based games. It's not because I never had a whole lot of interest in them but because I just didn't have the money for them at the time so I figured why not try this one out. Let me let you in on a bit of backstory before we start this review. So basically they were planning to preinstall some of the minigames they had already made for this game on the Wii U for free but because the development team that worked on this project made so many ideas they decided to compile it into a game and make it around the Wario franchise. While the forty dollar price tag isn't horrible, it isn't great either you can see that they were trying to be fair with the price but I feel like this could have been at least 10 dollars cheaper due to very few hours of gameplay. So basically Game and Wario has 16 mini games and some of them are really good but others have mechanics that could have been executed better. I will talk a little about each one.

Arrow: basically the premise of Arrow is a lot like Takamurus Ninja Castle on NintendoLand, not exactly alike but has a lot of similarities. Basically you use the gamepad to shoot arrows at enemy's and you must keep them away from the screen, after you do this you will be greeted by a boss, the bosses are pretty creative and challenging, but as you get to the last level which will be level four, you will start too notice that this game starts to get stale. I liked this game but it's nothing too out of the ordinary.

Ashley: Another mini game that's just alright, I mean honestly there is nothing too special about this one, basically what you do is collect little gems throughout the game you can do special moves to get ones you barley missed and you will fight a boss at the end of each level, basically Ashley shoots her spells at them and you collect the gems, they have. In my honest opinion I found this one really bland and not too fun to replay.

Bird: This one is homage to the Pyro mini game WarioWare for the Gameboy Advance. Basically you are supposed to catch fruit with your tongue while avoiding it and trying to avoid the platforms it breaks. It's the last single player game to be unlocked and honestly it's terrible, or at least a waste, why is it in this game, it just feels tacked on and I just honestly feel that it's really boring. I could understand why this game would be on a handheld console but why a regular console, nobody today wants to play this for fun on a regular console.

Bowling: Bowling is what it say it is plain old bowling, (gee oh boy this hasn't been done to death) it's not exactly regular bowling, basically it's tricky style bowling but the way you play is tedious as all hell. You push the ball on the screen with your finger then you are supposed to move it left and right by moving the gamepad until it hit the end where it is about to hit the pins, you are supposed to aim it just right to get some of the harder pins down, The gameplay mechanics feel really off in this one, and that may be due to the gamepad not being sensitive enough I found that when I wanted to make a big curve it would not do so and I felt like this one was just honestly, unfair, if they would have executed this one better this would have been a decent mini game.

Design: basically the whole mini game is trying to make an exact calculation of a line or a circle, it's kind of fun but nothing very new and it's a bit tawdry. Not a whole lot you can say for this one.

Gamer: this may be the best mini game of them all. Basically you are a kid trying to play your handheld game device while your mom try's to sneak in and bust you, she will come out of anywhere, the window, the door, the TV (yeah the TV don't know how that's possible.), and you must hide before she catches you while you must beat 10 small mini games on the gamepad it's really fun and will make your adrenaline flow every time you play it.

Kung Fu: This one is pretty fun to the premise of this game is to collect Dumplings and get to end of the course, you jump from platform to platform, and you can use the gamepad for a different perspective of where to land.

Patchwork: This is honestly just a puzzle, there is really no reason that this one needs to be in this game but it's kind of fun and I kind of like it.

Pirate: This one is just strange. You must block arrows with your gamepad and you must listen to Captain Wario and he will say where they all are being shot from either right, left, or up and you must try to go in rhythm, with it. It's alright but I didn't care for it too much.

Ski: This one is just a copy of NintendoLands Captain Falcon attraction it's again nothing special and the gameplay mechanics aren't close to as good as Captain Falcon's attraction. Overall it's not too great.

Shutter: Shutter is a pretty fun game, you must take certain picture of certain people or things and you must do it with good precision on the gamepad it's actually really fun and one of the better mini games.

Taxi: In this game you must get money by driving people to their destination and you will get money for the high score and you must destroy aliens in the process it's not a bad mini game but again it's nothing to special.

There are other Mini games you can play with friend but I decided to only focus on the single player campaign, so yeah…
Overall Game and Wario isn't a bad game but some of the mini games are shallow and there isn't a whole lot of gameplay even for a forty dollar price tag. I would only recommend this game to people who would play this game with a lot of people, because for me this game is just alright.
