A faithful and fun Frogger update

User Rating: 7.4 | Frogger's Adventures: Temple of the Frog Advance GBA
This is the only one of the modern Frogger games that I have played. I was not a big fan of Frogger when I was young, but remember it for having some of the most colorful graphics on the Atari 2600.

I picked up Frogger’s Adventures mainly because it was packaged with a classic game compilation on the cheap. I had zero expectations for this game but it turned out to be a rather fun but short adventure.

Frogger’s Adventures is exactly what I would hope for from a Frogger update. It uses much of the simple Frogger gameplay of the past and puts it into platformer like stages. The enemies and obstacles are varied but follow a set pattern all the time. This allows for a puzzle game feel as well as arcade. Bosses are amusing and fun. They are usually defeated by dodging their attacks until you are able to hop on a floor switch that causes something bad to happen to them.

Graphics are quite good and colorful, and obstacles were easy to see. They were about all I could ask for in a Gameboy Advance game.

Once you get the hang of the gameplay you will be able to beat the games 5 worlds and 15 stages pretty quickly. Considering that most of you that have this game probably found it on the cheap as well, the short length isn’t all that bad. The ride to the end is quite fun and I’d recommend anyone that thinks that they might enjoy this type of game to pick it up.
