Why isnt my xbox one detecting my external HDD?

So yeah, my xbox one S isnt detecting my WD passport external 3.0 hard drive anymore. it was working fine yesterday (i was watching a movie off the drive) but today when i tried to access the drive it keep's giving me the "No devices found" display. i tried all the USB ports, i tried reformatting my drive to NTSF, FAT32, eFAT etc, but nothing.. what the hell happened???

It's going to sound stupid but change the cord, I had a similar problem and fixed it by changing the cord.

If your are running the preview version of the UI sometimes it bugs out and makes the USBs not work. Sucks I went thru this for about 2 months around April of this year. Had to install the games I was playing on the internal. One of the patches fixed it though.

Make sure your system OS is up to date.
