I would have to think about that one... most likely Knights of the old republic (first one).

Not positive on that one though. Paper Mario was interesting.... Psychonauts? Half Life (It didn't make much sense though) I liked Kingdom Hearts... although the second one got a little loopy... I'm seriously going to have to think about this.

Devil May Cry's story is so bad its awesome, its always something like "It was a normal day, and dante was sitting then OUT OF NO WHERE DEMONS! THEN DANTE KILLS THEM EATS THE REST OF HIS PIZZA AND WALKS OUTSIDE WHERE A LARGE CITADEL HAS RISIN FROM THE GROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!" and you gotta say it like your screaming. and it usually has dante jumping through a window somewhere in there.

Storyline though, the darkness from what I remember of it. I need to replay it, I remember that I kept on playing mainly cause of the story, its pretty awesome.

Final Fantasy VII had the best storyline in a game I have ever played.

Aside from that I would have to say Kingdom Hearts and the Metal Gear Solid series.

most definently the half life series. very deep... i can always find something new about it that i didnt know.

Then there's also Zelda TP. That was the best zelda game ever. One of the best games ever in my opinion.

By the responses I'd have to guess that most people here haven't been playing video games all that long.

I can't think of a "best story" Although these stories do come to mind.....Final Fantasy 6, Baldur's Gate (1 and 2) And right now I'm properly addicted to Lost Odyssey which has the best story for a video game I've seen in nearly a decade.

galerians, something about it just strikes "original" i do mean this to it's fullest form i havent seen anything like it there are two games and 1 cgi movie that is based on the first game on the dot.it played like RE 3 disc classic.idk what it is but i can watch tell and replay it for hours and never get bored this has been somthing going on for 11 years since it came out in 2000.(the other choices on here a pretty godly too)

Wow, 8th page and the first mention of my favorite story, Dragon Age Origins. My entire top eight is bioware games. Mass Effect 1+2, Kotor 1+2, Baldur's Gate 1+2, and Jade Empire were also amazing. Here's hoping that Dragon Age 2 was a fluke and ME3 will continue bioware's excellent storytelling.
