EXCLUDING GAMES MADE BY BIOWARE! That means we are excluding Mass Effect 1+2 and Dragon Age. Sorry, but I just feel like this would be hands down winners. For me, excluding those games, it would have to be Gears of War 2. Such a great game.

Gears 2 had some plotholes and the ending was anti-climatic so no its not the most epic game. This is a tough question, COD 4 is by far the most epic. I have never been into a game more than COD 4 's ending, crazy sh*t man.

Lost Odyssey has some awesome battles. But, my vote would have been a few bioware games.

I just kinda assumed since this was the 360 forum, we were talking about 360 titles. Since we apparently aren't, I'm changing my vote to:

In the first post the thread creator mentioned that we should pick games NOT made by BioWare, haha.

Tales of Vesperia and Fallout 3. Those would have been my choices even if Bioware games were allowed.

I know its not a 360 game but the first Star Wars: KOTOR Was amazing. But I thought that Oblivion was an epic game with an epic battle to win it all!!

360 title would be COD4 probably. I enjoyed the first Halo. In fact I have just bought a used copy to play again. :D

But I do have fond memories of Metal Gear Solid on the PS1.

Gears of Wars 2 was just plain awesome. It's a tie between Halo 3 and GeoW2. That's only because you won't let me choose ME2! As you can tell, I'm only stating Xbox 360 exclusive games, not PS3. If I had to choose OVERALL, it would be God of War 3.

Edit: I really have to mention LOST ODYSSEY as well. Epic JRPG game. One of the best I've ever played, hands down.

Story-wise, I'd have to go for the Assassin's Creed series. The storytelling is simply awesome so far, and I can't wait for the 3rd game.

Most Good RPGs have a nice long epic single player "Campaign"

Games like Dragon Age, Mass Effect, or Lost Odyssey

massive fan of that fantasy sort of setting; magic, swords, shields and arrows. They make for great RPG settings (diablo 2 is a given :P)

Yeah I would Rank Oblivion in my top 10 if not my top 5. Great game. And your right about Diablo. Cool game.

to those who have posted thus far, all good choices! Just two quick points... yes this is an Xbox 360 only thread. You can mention Xbox exclusives and multiplat games that are on the Xbox, but you CAN NOT mention games that are not on the 360. I thought that was a given. Oh, and I thought of a new epic game that definitely needs mentioning... Final Fantasy XIII

probably because in my original post I said we had to exclude Bioware games, otherwise ME2 would be the clear-cut winner...

I really like the campaign in the first Battlefield Bad Company because it introduced me to the greatest Squad on the planet. I love those guys :)

I also really enjoyed Halo 3:ODST. I don't care what all the haters say."Firefly" CastVoice Overs = Epic Win!!

Tales of Vesperia/Lost Odyssey but I haven't played FF13 yet so that might be my favorite. I have played all of the JRPGs on the Xbox 360 besides two and Lost Odyssey/Tales of Vesperia have been my favorite.

A lot of people have been mentioning Fallout 3, but for me, a question to purify the water in post-apocolyptia isn't as epic as trying to stop demon's from overrunning the planet and destroying life as we know yet... but still, Fallout was an amazing game, just don't compare it to Oblivion.

Agreed with Call Of Duty 4. Epic ending and quality levels througout. Has to be said that Fallout 3 is amazing on solo campaign, but not my cup of tea! Also, I think Saints Row 2 has a fun factor to its solo campaign!

Mass Effect 2 & Demon's Souls

Although it could be argued that in DS there is some multiplayer elements involved, so far it is just one of my favourite games of the moment for single player hardcore experience

Bioshock - can't believe this hasn't been mentioned more...

although it depends what you mean by 'epic' - weather it be length of time or scope of the story or the scale of the game.....

I would also mention Lost Odyssey, GoW 2 and AC 2
