Microsoft working on NEXT GEN first party sequel! What could it be?

Oh yes! Conker is in my favorite game series. I completely forgot about the possibility of a Conker sequel. Bad Fur Day was amazing (I still play it till this day) and Live and Reloaded had the best graphics on xbox and awesome multiplayer. Hmm, it could also be Kameo 2. I dunno why but it seems appropriate that it would be a Rare game

Um no, I didnt misunderstand. I have (way) above adequate reading comprehension skills and I know what I read. As I stated it is from EGM the magazine. But here is a quote from 1up.com:

And it makes perfect sense for them to be working on it now. If you remember, the Xbox debuted in 2001 and the 360 in 2005. It is now 2008. The gap between the original and the 360 was four years....if MS wants to keep the same amount of time between releases (4 years) they would have to start work ona game now

Thats interesting. Since this is the first Ive heard about that, Im sure there wont be any information about this at CES on monday. Maybe we will hear something by E3, or TGS, but I dont know. I dont think now would be a good time to start talking about a new system when there is plenty of life left in the 360. There is no need to rush a new system out when people are still interested in the 360.Yceman757

I think the biggest misconception people are having is that Microsoft is ready to shove a new console out the door. Not at all. They just happen to be working on a new console and game. It takes time people! Microsoft is working on the next gen early because they will have to develop the console, the game engines etc. Its still a little ways off probably November 2009 would be my bet.

and to ele975: There was no Perfect Dark 2. It was Perfect Dark Zero on the 360, it was a prequel. On the N64 it was just called Perfect Dark. The next one released would likely be Perfect Dark 2 (not 3)

try and look at it this way. Work on a next system now, that might not be out for 7+ years make it really good. Also work on a game that can be up to par with it. All I am saying is maybe they don't plan on releasing this system any time soon. And this leak was sooner than wanted.

there no way the 360 will old out for 10 years with the limt space of the disc when the companys could make games for blu ray there is some gameing companys geting tired of fiting stuff on small disc when they wanna do good things for the game so

and i wount besuprised they will ditch the 360 in 2 years so they can make every one buy new xbox to make money lol (i wount be buying it untill a year latter bcuz of 2005)

honestly... if MS releases an xbox 720 or whatever next year... there's no way in hell I'm gonna buy it. That would mean their 360 was a 3 year plan and that's just WACK. They should at least develop 360 for another 2 years before talking about releasing another console. This would be suicide for them... just like putting an hd dvd drive in their current model would be. I also don't believe that they are developing Gears 2 or Bioshock 2 or any of these heavy AAA titles for a new console instead of the current 360 they have. It's bye bye to the MS camp for me if they release another "next-gen" xbox next year. that just means they truly are in it for the money totally releasing consoles every three years instead of 7-10 years. What's gonna be funny if they do this.... this new xbox next year would only be slightly better in graphics and then when ever Sony or Nintendo release their new consoles 5-7 years from now.... that new xbox will look like SNES compared to the new technology that would be available. It'll probally eb anothe rhalo since microsoft owns teh rights to its name. But as for this whole xbox 720 thing EGM is full of **** first off there reviews are terrible and i really don't find them to be reliable. But if it is true then i will never buy another microsoft product again considering if there plan is to ditch teh 360 already.

The XBox launched onNovember 15, 2001: and the 360 launched on November 22, 2005. If M$ were to come out with one late 2009 I would not be surprised. I would also not automatically not buy it. If the improvements are worth the price then I'll probably get it.

My predictions are

December of 2009 Microsoft will announce a new console
December of 2010 Microsoft will release a new console

Which is PERFECTLY fine seeing as how December is one month away from a year. I mean think about it! We go through 2008 have a Christmas go through 2009 have a Christmas and then a console is announced and we go through another Christmas and its released giving us about 20-30 months until a new console is released. Roughly until the end of 2010 until its released.

Those are my predictions anyways! We will see a new console come Christmas time 2010 and it will be announced come Christmas time 2009.

u make good points this could also be a way for MS to learn what the developers want in the next xbox. since a game is in production for it, the developer can give MS feedbacks what they would recommend the console to feature, or upgrade the things MS has though on. This could be a good thing for MS to create a more effecient and hopefully a more reliable console. i d just hope this next console doesnt come for atleast a couple more years.

I'd hope not:( I can't believe a console is based on like one game series! Halo isn't even remotely special apart from the multiplayer. Dead Rising 2 FTW!!!
