Yea, this happens mostly in europe but some places have the games in stored several weeks before actual release. I also have a few contact here in the US that can hook me up sometimes.

It has been known to happen, on Rare Occasions. Like I got Pokemon Sliver a week before its release.
If it wasn't for teh fact that my pre-order is already paid for, and it comes out next tuesday, I would have purchased a copy from eBay. But not really in a hurry.
