when gears first came out the mp was AWSOME no one rlly cheated and u woked as a team u had the occasional quiter and glitcher but mostly no...and well the host advantage has rlly improved and i dont rlly notice it anymore cept now u got all those glitchers and crap it seems with every dl pack they made the game worse
CoD4 has the best MP on the 360...by far. I don't want to even bother playing another game, such as Gears or Halo, because I will become instantly bored and put CoD4 back in within seconds.
Like the other guy said its easy to kill the host if your good, but the glitching really brought the game down and it looks like they stopped making new content for the game. The multiplayer is addicting I can sit down for 15minutes and be ready to play for another hour.
ive played halo 3 and still think the mp on gears of war is better.

Dude gears was like the worst online game that i have ever played on the 360 it had as much action as halo only when you got shot you had to wait like on average 3-4 minutes before you could play again it was not like SOCOM for PS2 where you could be stealth and stuff
Gears multiplayer was never the best. Ever. Did you notice how Halo 3 has a ranking system, a skill system, and the ability for you to fluidly form teams with your friends or on the fly? Where are all those options in Gears? If Gears had had half of the multiplayer system that Halo does, it might have been at the top... IMO it failed big time.jstarzyk
I will admit that was the biggest drawback but the gameplay was just so much fun when you got a team of 4 together.
I played today for the first time in awhile, and let me tell you, after playing COD4, I was bored out of my mind. I was addicted to it back in the day too. It's just extremely boring.
Gears of war in opinion is the best mp game ever. the lag host advantage and all that still doesnt take away the most amazing mp expierience ive ever had. now cod 4 is literally right behind gears its is sooooo damn fun and never gets old. Besides Gears of war 2 is going to kick @ss
Halo 3 is the king of MP IMO. Gears was alright back in the day but I've moved on. CoD4 is okay but I don't think it's that great. I find Halo 3 to be much more fun. Team objective, Rocket race, forge.... There's just so much more to do in Halo 3.
I like each one for different reasons, and they both have their strengths. Those two being COD4 and Halo 3. Gears though.... What does it bring to the table. Why would it be best mp game on 360? I dont see alot.
It never was the best MP for me Vegas had it beat back last year but then COD4 came and has just destroyed the rest that is by far the best MP game i have played on the 360.

well same here buddy gears is the best game ever i like cod 4 and gears the same but if i had to choose its gears i have really never seen such online multiplayer game like this incredible just incredible
Nah, COD 4 beats it on team size, play time etc.But Team Fortress 2 (The Orange Box), just kicks everything with a giant fun filled boot. Its just innovative, with all the different classes and their unique abilities,and you dont get frustrated...ever!
well halos got 2-4 playersoffline ,, gears dont playing gears offline is like playing super mariokart on the super nintendo,, missing component,, 4 players. and no no game has lived up to the bar set by goldeneye/pd/ts(timesplitters 2/3) that said maybe next time theyl lput 4 players .. thats what many fps games need to have in order to compete with halo 3
