Im guessing 9.5. I dont see any reason for it to get a 10. I mean sure its great and all but its nothing revolutionary. I understood MGS4 getting the 10 because it was revolutionary in storytelling. GTA4 pretty much too sandbox gaming to a whole new level which is why it too got a 10. I dont see Gears doing anything new to warrent the 10, it will just be a kick ass hell of a fun time action game just like the first one. tbolt_88I wouldve given MGS4 a 10 just because of the dramatic change to gameplay, which ended up being much better for the title.
Well Lately Gamespot has had a nack for giving games a 10 when they obviosly do not deserve it. So with Gears of War 2(a game that will deserve a 10) they should definetly give it a 10 and i hope that they do.TOC48
i agree, but GTA4 was probably a 9.5, i gave it a 10 though because i think i got a little excited after my first playing of it, but MGS4 was def a 10.
just an opinion.
The new features are impressive but it still is a tad too early to be deciding.
I guess i'd say 9.0-10 Range.
Sadly, Its going to be great, worth of a 10, first one definitly was, but I see it getting an 8 maybe 8.5 for two reason's
hype,
and
because its not as original and fresh as the first one...
Let's say the game does have an incredible story, and has an easier difficulty, and the cover system works more fluently, and the party system rocks; Gears of War 2 will probably not get a 10. Gamespot is a site that takes itself seriously and doesn't want a mockery made of its review system. Because everyone knows that even worse than people whining about their game not getting a 10, is people whining about a game getting a 10 that doesn't deserve a 10.
It's hardly about the game anymore, it's all politics. Do I think Gears 2 will get a 10? No. Do I think Gears 2 should get a 10? Maybe. I think Epic has addressed most of the problems the first game suffered from. The one thing I'm not sure about is the story. From what's been made public, the story sounds pretty cliche to me. Gears 1 didn't have a much of a plot, so it didn't really suffer from having a poor story. From what I understand, Gears 2 will have a story, but whether it'll be good or not, no one knows. Having a bad story is worse than no story at all. This is the biggest issue, I think. More than anything else, the story will make or break GOW2.
So basically, the game probably won't get a 10, but there is a possibility, which means something, because most games, you can tell just by looking at them they won't get a 10. The mere fact that people are debating this means that a 10 is within reach.
Yeah, umm... the game's not finished, it doesn't deserve anything yet.Gears of War 2 deserves a 10 but I have a feeling it won't get that here on GameSpot.

I'm guessing a 9.5, if it gets anything lower than that on GS i'll be pretty surprised.Hitchy9
well be surprised becaused reading reviews on here and comapring them to other website reviews is pretty weird.i wouldnt be surprised if even though the game could br great they'll prolly give it like a 9.1
Here's a quick thought. Who really cares what the score is if the game is a f'ing blast to play? The reason scores aren't the end all be all is because they are all based on OPINION. Opinion != the experience I'm going to have while playing a game.If Gears gets a 3/10 on one website and a 9.5/10 on another, is that going to change the experience I have? I think not.shujikun07
Thank you Scores dont matter people if you enjoy the game who cares what every one else thinks
