Once I beat Pokemon Platinum, I thought I was going to be bored of the game. But then I figured out there was a battle frontier in the game!

(The New Battle Frontier)

The new battle frontier features 5 places. Battle tower, battle castle, battle factory, battle roulette, and the battle stage.

All of which, has a frontier brain. If you has any questions about the new battle frontier, just ask me.

(Battle Stage)

(Battle Castle)

(Battle Factory)

(Battle Tower)

(Battle Roulette)

The same thing you do in Emerald. Try to collect all the Battle Symbols.

Battle other people. I just hope they won't have the same level pokemon as I do.

Actually Emerald is the only pokemon game I've never played. So could you explain a bit more? What are Battle Symbols, how many are there, and what do they do?

Well, you have to battle in the place (Battle factory, battle tower, etc.) for a certain ammount of times, then the fronteir brain will battle you. If you beat her/him, she/he will give you the Battle Symbol. The battle symbols are like Gym Badges.

There are also battle points. If you beat 7 trainers in the place, you will get 1 or more battle point(s).

As a kid I could never devise a decent strategy for Pokemon, so I say nay.

Pokemon Red was my first RPG in 1996, played the Japanese version for over 1000 hours. My favourite game of all time. I'd recommend Pokemon as a good starter RPG!

Yup, me too as a kid could never devise those superb (and cheap) strategies that the "pros" use, also its a decent rpg for all the ages.

Aside from the Tower, what does each one do? I never got into the Frontier in Emerald, but I do know that each building was a bit different from the other.

In Emerald, Battle Frontier was a place you could use to see if your skills where up to par. There are facilities that focus on certain battling skills( buildings that want you to focus on luck other than another building that wants you to focus on stats and elments.) Its to train your battle style. Battle Symbols are like badges that you get after competing against people and the Froniter Brain(person who founds the building and use the style of it). Basically, its just for devolping techniques.

Battle Factory : Instead of using your Pokemon, you rent Pokemon for free for bttles. You can also take one of your opponets Pokemon after defetating them. Used to train verstaltiy and helps with elmental skills. Battle Roulette : Spin a roulttle before an after Battles to gain certain status effects. Used to learn how to rely on luck and train the use of item usage. Battle Stage : You are allowed to fight certain types to your chossing. Elmemtal traning, and basic battle taticts. Battle Castle ;???
