King Koopa has been kidnapping the princess in every installment (Super Mario Brothers 2 is an exception) of this platforming series. The same storyline over and over again is getting quite old for me. I would like to see a whole different villain in the future, not stealing Peach from her unguarded castle. I want something fresh from the Super Mario series please.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 was a missed opportunity. Why were we collecting all those coins? Nintendo could have shaken it up a little by having Wario kidnap the Princess instead of Bowser, and have Wario demand a ransom of like 100,000 coins or something.

What if Bowser hatched a plot to make the Princess, Mario and Luigi lose their credibility and took control of the Mushroom kingdom in the ensuing chaos? That could make for an interesting game, and all without anyone being kidnapped.

I see how that would work, and it would be a pretty good game.
Bowser isn't too bad. But nintendo does need to switch up the story every now and then. And I almost feel as if Princess Peach gets kidnapped on purpose

Maybe have another platformer game or two without Bowser, but I don't think they should get rid of him forever. It would be really shocking if that happened.

I must agree.. :PI can't imagine who wouldn't I wouldn't. Peach doesn't have enough personality to be anything. She's basically used as a plot device to give Mario a reason to fight Bowser. Which is an excellent reason to change the formula.

And allowing you to play as some else than Mario.
Of course, because the plot would not have anything to do with Peach getting kidnapped.
I'm not sick of Bowser. Maybe it is just because I feel nostalgic, but Bowser has been the villian since the beginning. I don't like how the Koopalings are starting to cut into his screen time.
