Hehe, I have seen my shear of topics like this one and the result is always the same: the vast majority of the posters say their favourite game is OoT. There's almost like a general consensus that OoT is the greatest Zelda game. Well, it really doesn't surprise me one bit that most zelda fans, or most gamers in general actually, puts OoT above the rest. For oh my, what a game. I think Jeff Gerstman says it best in his review: "In a word, perfect. To call it anything else would be a bald-faced lie." In my (objective) opinion it's the greatest game ever created, and will remain so throughout history.
So to answer the question, my favourite Zelda game is Ocarina of Time. :P
As stated many times throughout the forum, OoT is generally regarded as the greatest game ever created, and the vast majority of zelda fans choose it as their favorite game ever. I however have conflict choosing between OoT & TP because they were both amazing games that marked the beginning and end of the current zelda console era, respectively. TP and OoT are virtually tied in my book, but third goes to MM easily.
Well, I'm going to guess that most people these days are too young to have played the original zelda games. My favorite game in the zelda series is A link to the Past. Back when the zelda games provided a challenge! Oot, WW, and TP were great games, but they were way too easy! It's fun to explore the world in each game, since hyrule is a very large place with lots to do. But there was little challenge to these games with the exception of mind-wrenching puzzles. I dont' think I ever even died once in WW. Oh well... still awesome games.
I think that the whole entire game quality and what make OoT the best was its story. Sure it follows the general LoZ principle of saving the kingdom from gannondorf, but all of the other games had a more basic format. Save the princess and some other people and then you'll be strong enough to stop evil king ganondorf. However, with OoT the circumstances were totally different. You find yourself uninvolved until your entire world is shaken by an unspeakable evil. Link discovers his true origins and destiny. And not only are you not just trying to save the princess you are trying to restore the spirit of hyrule and each of its clans. By the way the game was the first to develop all of the clans and give character development to the game other than link and zelda. Overall its just unquestionably fantastic
Ocarina Of Time is probably the greatest game of all time, and will always be a classic everyone will never forget. So to answer the question above i would have to say Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon.
everyone seems to like ocarina of time...but if u go back to its roots then yull see A LINK TO THE PAST is just like ocarina but more classic and i love he classics so i have to say A LINK TO THE PAST is the best
Ocarina Of Time was the best in series because it was the fist gfame in 3D and had amazing graphics and awesome bosses. I think if Wind Waker was longer it would have been my favourite but LTTP,OOT,TP and Wind Waker are all stunnning games with amazing gameplay. Ocarina Of Time though revolutionazied the series though thats what makes it the best.
I expect Phantom Hourglass to be a top game but the best in the series probably not but I am looking forward to it.chocolate1325
Me too, the fact that the game is going to be maily touch controlled makes me feel...well...a little less excited, but I will buy the game anywayand I will probably like it

I definetely can't wait for it, especially now that I've gotten in a Zelda craze and have basically been playing as many Zeldas as possible. o_O
I have only played 4 Zelda games Ocarina Of Time,Wind Waker,Twilight Princess and A Link To the Past but all of them are good. Ocarina Of Time though did revoluitonaize the series and made it better in 3D.

I've played and beaten every Zelda game and thought all of them were good, and yes, OoT definetely revolutionized the Zelda series.

You know, I've never understood the people who claim Twilight Princess is the greatest Zelda game ever. It's a very good game, but it's got nothing new over Ocarina. I can only assume that anyone who claims TP is the greatest Zelda game, just hasn't played many others.
Ocarina of Time, hands down... considering it was made 10 years before Twilight princess, and when it was rereleased on the gamecube gamespot gave it 8.9 (after having given it 10 when it first came out). Considering Twilight Princess only came out at 8.9, i think even gamespot agrees that Ocarina of Time is the best Zelda game
Wind Waker would have been my favourite if it was harder and longer it had stunning graphics no matter what anybody says. The gameplay is just as good if not better OOT. They are all special in different ways.
Not that I don't like legend of Zelda series, but most of the series has the exact same concept like the boomerang, bombs, and arrows. I just hope they make something fresh.
Ocarina of Time beacuse it was the first game I played through and it was so intense because of the puzzles were challenging and there was a lot of stuff to do in the villages. Ah remember the kakariko village theme song. Ocarina of Time best zelda game and best game period.
I said OOT but I like Wind Waker alot because it got me intrested in the series. I actually think I might change my mind and say it is my second favourite Zelda title.
