Are Video Games Art?

I need to get SoC. I borrowed a ps2 then realized that I don't have games for it any more :PKman5507

There are structures and stuff, they're just empty. It's only you, some turtles, some lizards, some birds and the colossi.

I actually used SotC against Fallout. Fallout is quite empty, and not very interesting. Shadow of the Colossus has even less stuff in it, but it's sense of history and brilliant art design makes it the most interesting game I've played. It may be empty, but if you let your imagination take hold and really pay attention you will start to build your own version of the game's world. That's what is so beautiful about it.

You should play the game and you might get the same feeling;)

It has a strange but nice story too.

I believe Shadow Of Collossus and ICO is art too,and the The Last Guardian is going to be art...Actually Fumito Ueda is art:P

yeah i know, i was about to mention those(though i haven't played the games yet.) I also think a lot of the visuals of games can be art. I know this might sound corny, but the design of DBZ: Budokai 3 has a borderlandish feel over it, and never gets bad. It looked really good back in the ps2 days and still looks beautiful, just like Walking Dead and Borderlands. Games like Little Big Planet also have that vibe 

You can do the same thing with the starwars movies :P
but really I don't get you right now. In one topic you complain about movies leaving certain aspect up to your imagination, but here you're praising a game for the same reason? :?Kman5507

Yes, this is true. Bond is a lot more vulnerable and believable: It's easily the best action film... Well Jackie Chan has had some good ones too.:P
