WELCOME TO REPOST DAY But since the topic's been brought back to the top we may as well continue with it. Symphony of the Night holds this slot by obligation. It's the hook that drew me into the rest of the Castlevania Universe. Unfortunatly i don't play enough of the 2D home console castlevania's to have developed a preference, but i think Super Castlevania 4 is my favorite of them to date. Lament of Innocence has come to be tied for second place since i started taking a serious run at playing through the game as Joachim. Joachim, a boss in the game the first time you paly through the game, is a playable character the second time through. He is the epiotome of cool ... plain and simple. Hand held's ... I like Aria of Sorrow, it's not as hard as CotM, and definitly not as easy as HoD. It's very much a portable tribute to SotN and your bonus playable character gets stronger as you fight bosses, which makes you actually want to find them and you have more subweapons at your disposal. yea thats enough for now.
Of course Symphony of the Night is up there, probably my second favorite. My favorite has got to be Super Castlevania IV as it was one of the first Castlevania games I played. I really liked Lament of Innocence too.
I'd have to say SCV4. It's the first CV I played when I was old enough to know what I was doing. (CV2 was the first CV I ever played but was very young) The level with the spikey wheel always gave me something to complain about...lol
It's hard to pick one. I loved Symphony of the Night, Rondo of Blood, I, II, II, and IV. Plus the GBA ones. Out of all of them I'd have to say Symphony cause I played it the most and it had a lot of replay value for me.
Bloodlines! Argh! I knew there was another game absent from my collection, but couldn't remember the title. Just when I thought my wishlist stopped growing.
Anyhow, I remember playing bloodlines. A friend had it and we'd frequently play it when we were bored. I'd have to say my favorites are III, IV, and Harmony.
Symphony of the Night definitely, Alucard is so sick, they should have him in more games. Did you know you can play as Maria Renard on I think it's the Sega CD or maybe it's the NeoGeo version, darnit I forgot which other console it was on, somebody help me out.
It's hard for me to pick just one! My favorites are Symphony of the Night, cause you got to play as Alucard through the entire game, Castlevania III, Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge for Game Boy, Castlevania Bloodlines, and Castlevania: Lament of Innocence
