A sadist is someone who takes pleasure from inflicting pain on others. Unless you're eating something alive, you aren't doing that. For the most part animals we eat are also killed as humanely as possible. IE: quickly and without suffering. So there's no sadism involved on that end either.

Hallal or whatever the killing method they use in the islam religion doesn't sound so suffering free... That would be why the qualifier "for the most part" was included. Cutting something's throat certainly isn't a painless method.
