Xbox one - You get what you pay for (Who is gaining the larger profit margin?)

I go a friend of mine thats in LOVE with forza.

And plays STRICTLY ONLY MULTIPLATS (GTA/FIFA/Soul Calibur)

That forza game though is pushing him to buy the Xbone.

He knows that the PC is the best for multiplats or that the PS4 is stronger.

However neither has Forza. So hes gonna buy the worst console to play the game he wants.

Sounds like this thread is just all the more reason why I'm perfectly fine with my PS4, and do not need to purchase any X Box systems.

Both consoles are overpriced for what they're providing... If the Xbone was 250$-300$ I would be glad to get it if it came with MCC. But until then I'll just stick with my PS3 that actually has games.

Xbox one is releasing great new games. The online infrastructure actually works. Plus it has a host of other features if you wish to use them

yup. i'd say there both losing money on each console sold (for the console only) but sony is losing less per console sold then MS is. They do it purposely to make it up later in fees (XBLG and PSN+) and game sales and accessories

@scottpsfan14: Heh, at least you didn't use the "supercharged pc" phrase after listing those specs. The major difference between a 400$ console and let's say 800$ PC is one actually has games, and has the capabilities of doing much more than just gaming and streaming.

Considering Sony never seem to know how to make money and somehow keep losing it, then Microsoft are likely to be gaining the larger profit margin.

That pretty much sums it up, I want to play Halo, in this case, Halo 5, I have the money to purchase me where I can play that game I want so I don´t give a damn which company makes more profit. Contrary to other hobbies gaming is cheap, my other hobby is bass fishing, you got any idea how much money I have spent in fishing rods and reels ? of course you can fish with one rod and reel and a few lures, but unless you live on a lake front property you have to go to the lake, that alone cost you in transportation vs I can game every single day all I have to do is turn on the console and place my butt on the couch.

Sure the PS4 gives you a decent amount for the price. And now that the X1 is going to be cheaper, the same could be said for that console. But I don't know one PC, hermit, elitist who built their rig and ONLY uses it for gaming. To cancel out all the other uses of a gaming rig and complain about its price is a stupid argument.

@everyone else, lets do some simple math that seems complicated for most of you

Sony Sells 50 Units PS4 @ 400$ = 20,000$

Microsoft sells 50 Units of X1 + Game @ 350$ = 17,500 (AND THATS WITH A GAME)

Now this might get tricky for most of you, now subtract the 20k from 17,5k and you are left with 2,5 k in favor of Sony. Dont forget the extra money Microsoft had to pay Activision and Sunside Overbore developers to put the game in their 349 bundle.

I know people here in greece that having spent €1000 on a rig are feeling that they have saved more cash than if they bought a €400 console.

Yeah the hardware besides the GPU is better quality on the Xbox One. Second the games are much better so far in this gen on the Xbox One so a few extra pixels don't matter to most people that know better.

lol what company makes more money off the console is completely irrelevant because MS is constantly shitting out money while sony is bleeding it. Sony NEEDS the PS4 to sell well, MS doesn't need the Xbone to sell well.

there is not very much Gamewise that sets the new consoles apart from the old ones, i can play 90% of the games Xbone and Ps4 gamers are playing on my 360 and save myself 400 quid.

All these console are at the moment are a 400 quid graphics upgrade on the same games i can play on 7th gen consoles
