Other: Maneater and followed by Outriders. Never play Balan Wonderland but looking at the gameplays I seen. I knew it look like SHIT!!!

What is does represent is possibly the worst treatment of a fanbase before the release of a game, which is pretty impressive considering we live in a world where Nintendo, EA, and Actiblizz exist.

I haven't played any of these games. Reckon I've got better things to play.

hmm, the worst game I actually played this year is probably New World which I got fomo'd into playing. and its not even terrible just incredibly tedious and repetitive after you get to level 25 or so.

Back4Blood was also pretty underwhelming but not a bad game.

BF2042 is a mess, but a mess with significant entertainment value.

Deathloop I found hugely disappointing after all the amazing reviews, and loving most of Arkane's previous work. but its just mediocre, not bad.

Sonic Colors Ultimate and GTA having worst ports than BloodRayne Re-releases (which I like) is nothing short of SAD.

Hate to say of, but of the games played this year, RE8 is the worst.

Cinematic garbage and a PC port with degrading performance that lasted for 2 months reviewers didn't pick up on until PC gamers screamed about it enough.

Far Cry 6

I thought this was gonna be another Far Cry 3 with it's tropical setting. But it's downright unplayable with how bad this game is. It takes all of the elements I hated from New Dawn (grinding, weapons that are good/bad vs some units) and removes all the elements that people loved in Far Cry 5 (like throwing a shovel in someone's face). Worst Ubisoft game I've ever played. It's grindy and stupid

GTA Trilogy

This compilation is so awful that I'd rather not play it because it would tarnish the great memories I have from these games. I'd rather play the mini helicopter mission from Vice City a thousand hours than spend one minute playing the Trilogy. The fact that they call this 'the definitive version' and removed every other version is downright insulting.

Battlefield 2042

I've never had a Battlefield game run bad for me. I've never had a Battlefield game where I couldn't have fun.

Enter Battlefield 2042. The fact that it is bleeding players and the steam review score says it all.

GTA Trilogy easily. I hope they manage to fix it, though, since it's the only way to play it on the Switch.

For the games I played: Biomutant.

The game was just so “ehhhh”

It was trying to be several games at once and wasnt good at any of them. The narrator is super annoying as if you were a five year old. The combat is two button spamming. I played for 10 hours and couldn’t be bothered to continue with it.

It’s a shame since I was super looking forward to this game even with the delays.

Got to be eFootball 2022. Konami literally shot themselves in the foot and fucked up massively. 99.9% of the PES community are angered by the change of direction Konami has taken with this legendary football game.

Now, FIFA has the upper hand and has zero competition right now. eFootball 2022 is dying.

Yeah, I see what you mean, but eFootball 2022 has taken a massive downfall and given FIFA the advantage. I have witnessed PES fans jump ship and bought FIFA 22!

@omegamaster: FIFA was already dominating PES in sales due to its big licensing advantages. But with how badly Konami screwed up eFootball, they've handed FIFA a monopoly. It's sad to see how low PES has fallen since the PS2 days, when PES was able to match FIFA in sales (and even outsell FIFA on some occasions).

I am going to say Aliens Fireteam Elite because I actually like it when I can find people to play with but the devs let the player base take a nosedive and don't appear to be doing anything to get people online to play and it's shitty to play solo with bots.

As expected, GTA and eFootball are leading the poll. I wouldn't exactly consider them the worst games, but they took the biggest nosedives in quality. The GTA trilogy and PES were already good games, but Rockstar and Konami decided to take a big dump on them for no reason.

Can someone mention Mobile Dread? It does have some invisible walls that block your main path that millions of gamers were simply unable to figure out. Its game breaking and on par with BF2042.

A lot to digest. Apex is horrible IMO. Just graphically, the art style, the weapons. To me, it’s just a game that got lucky cause nothing else was out. However it didn’t just come out this year.

Beloved GTA…it’s pretty bad off. I’d say in relation to what was expected and how it should perform, GTA takes the cake.

From the games I've actually played and finished, RE8 definitely takes the crown of poo.

From the games I've not played, I'd probably say GTA collection. I mean, it's broken. And looks retarded.

Yeah I feel the exact same way.

There was a lot to like: the setting was brilliant, a lot of the characters were interesting, and hell I just liked playing a samurai rodent.

But the overall structure of the game is so bad: the narrator constantly interrupts the flow and it never goes anywhere, he just uses a bunch of baby words to describe everything.

And then there is the gameplay which just isn't deep or satisfying enough.

Balan Wonderworld was unfortunate. I think Yuji Naka's vision would have been better realized if Square Enix allowed him to team up with experienced developers like KH team, rather than outsourcing its development to Arzest that mainly develops mobile games, not large-scale games.

As a result of the failure, Yuji Naka has left SE, implying his retirement. It's such a lost opportunity.
