Will you eventually have both systems? PS4 and Xbox 1

Initially I bought an Xbox 360 for Gears of War and Dead Rising in 2006.  I then bought the PS3 for Metal Gear Solid 4 in 2008(been a big fan of Metal Gear since Solid on the PS1... sadly I have yet to play the NES versions).  So I can say I have both consoles.  Each have their own strengths and weaknesses(and exclusives...  how I learned to love the Gears of War series(Dom and Maria!!!  Sob)and the Fable trilogy; never had the original xbox so I never experienced the original on its release... and Naughty Dog and their Uncharted Series to The Last of Us(what an experience that game was to the God of War and Little Big Planet and Heavy Rain)....

I have a feeling I will eventually have both systems...  but this time I think I will buy a PS4 before the Xbox 1, though Titanfall looks amazing.  How many of you will eventually have both systems in your homes?  Or are you a microsoft or sony only person?  My PC is running a 560ti and a 3.20ghz I7 and I have no plans on upgrading it in the next few years... I barely play PC games nowadays... though the Battlefield series will always be a PC only purchase for me.  I'm pretty sure Battlefield 4 will run fine on my pc.

Of course, PS4 is day one, and Xbox One is day one or Christmas 2013.

Very doubtful. I've gone over scenarios, trying to find a way to fit in everything but it just doesn't seem possible for me. I have a huge backlog of games for this now-ending generation, I've not even collected all the games I want from it yet. I also plan on getting into PC gaming so I'll be doing my best to find the time for everything except the Xbox One, most likely.

Not paying $1000 for two of essentially the same system.

I'll be getting both

• Xbox One shortly after launch with Forza Motorsport 5 (hopefully a Fanatec wheel, pedal, shifter setup as well)
• PS4 when InFamous launches

when sony files for bankrupcy the ps4s will be dirt cheap. i'll probably get one then. 

I'll certainly get a PS4, and at this point I'd rather save up money for a decent gaming PC than an Xbox One.

You do have a point though, trying to find time for everything is virtually impossible if you have any semblance of a life outside of gaming at all. PC gaming is so foriegn to me now, so I'm going to start very casually with old games that are cheap on Steam and see if my interest peaks from there. Other than that I have everything I need already except a PS4, and I don't plan on getting that until mid-to-late 2014.

On-topic: Probably not. I think that just like the PS3 and 360, they're going to get identical multiplats and that neither console will have enough amazing exclusives to make me want to get both; especially since they're both going to charge for online play.

I dont like Halo or Forza.... so I dont see myself ever buying an xbox one. 

PC has soooooooooooooooo many games that I truly don't even have time (or money) for just that.

Of course, on occasion I'm sure I'd enjoy to play a console game every now and then, or play games under my covers, so I'll probably end up with a console or handheld if I can afford it :P

3DS or Xbox One are the most interesting to me atm.

I can't say for sure, yet.

If after 2-3 year the XB1 actually has some exclusives, then maybe. Depending on quality of said exclusives. I don't trust MS when they say something is exclusive, it ususally isn't or won't be for long.

Yes.  PS4 day 1 and I'll get a X1 when it's below 400.  Unless they just focus on MP games then I'll just avoid it altogether.  Hopefully Sony keeps a focus on single player too, but not sure if I'm going to pay anyone online as it's BS.

It's not even about how much money someone has.

Even if I had $50 billion I still wouldn't have the time to play every good game out there.

PC gets 10-20 new games any given week. I don't have time for that. 

I'm a PC gamer, and if I don't even have time to play everything coming out on PC then I certainly don't have time to have a PC and everything else.

If you're only a console gamer then you'd have time for everything since games don't release as frequently, but even then that's assuming someone has the desire for that.

Depends wholly on MS.  I have no want for a smart TV, games are all that matter.  If X1 doesn't put out some interesting exclusives, the only item from MS I'll be buying is their controller for my PC.

Thanks for that.  I've been playing videogames since the early 90s... River City Ransom to Streets of Rage, from Maniac Mansion to Deja Vu to Adventure Island to Pit Fighter, Arch Rivals to Street Fighter 2, to Shinobi to Golden Axe,  Final Fantasy to Shining Force, Phantasy Star to Dragon Warrior, Zelda to Rad Racer, Ridge Racer to Daytona 500, NFL 95 to NBA Jam, Resident Evil and Silent Hill...  I don't discriminate when it comes to games... I still think exclusives are worth it to me.  I loved Gran Turismo when it debuted on the PS1... but now I like the Forza series A LOT more... I play more Forza 4 and Horizon than GT5... heck, I'm more excited for Forza 5 than GT 6...  but ubisoft's The Crew looks like something that would tie me down for months.

I would love for 360 owners to expericence Heavy Rain and Last of Us... I would love for  PS3 owners to experience Fable and Alan Wake.  Having both systems means I get to enjoy it all.  Of course, PC owners have their League of Legends and Counter Strike, and World of Warcraft(which I was hooked on for two years straight... I would stay up till 4-5 in the morning on that with my capped out warrior at the time running raids and instances...)  Hahaha... funtimes, but I don't see myself going back to it.  Maybe when a WOW 2 rolls around... hehehe
