Just think about this for a few seconds before responding or clicking. Where would the Wii be right now if it weren't for Wii Sports? Do you honestly think that Nintendo would be approaching 10 million in sales? I know I personally wouldn't have purchased one. On top of that I wouldn't have had numerous Wii parties, which in turnconvinced at least 10 other people to purchase one (including my parents!).

Wii Sports was unquestionably the best game Nintendo could have packaged with the Wii. The question is it the most influential game of all time?

Good question, though the fanboys will rip it apart.

There's some truth to it but you've got to consider past games from past consoles. From that you can see Wii Sports not only has some way to go but because it's packed in it's very hard to gauge if it was.

That's really the only game I can think of that really compares to it. Yes Super Mario was huge. Honestly though that had more to do with the systems potential then anything else. The original NES was a trendious amount more powerful then any other console game system released before it. Virtually any (great) game that came packaged with the NES would have been a huge sucess. If the original Zelda, for example, would have been packaged with the NES we would be talking about that game right now.

Explain me one thing...

What the hell does it actually influence in terms of the gaming community and industry?

The second Wii Sports was unvieled, I knew it would've beent he most important game since GTA3. I got laughed at. I'll still get laughed at because the hardcore population is, for the lack of a better word, slightly oblivious.

Hardcore gamers will dissmiss you. But when you see Martha Stewart baking a cake in the shape of a Wii.... welll definitely Wii Sports has been the most influential on society as a whole.

Wii Sports is quite influential, but Super Mario Bros., Pong, and Pac-Man are more influential in video game culture.

Sure, its more influential then Pong, Donkey Kong and Super Mario Bros. Why not, it's not even a year old and its influenced every video game maker ever.

Get real. The game sucks. The Wii is promising but man I hate that game.

So...if any game that took advantage of the wii controls, was quirky and a mini-game and released with the Wii, it would've been the most influential game of all time? NO. Games that revolutionize a genre like multiplayer FPS like Halo did or something like Zelda are influential. Not wiisports.

Of all time, no, I don't believe so. Almost of all time, perhaps, perhaps.
