i have a question when people talk about next gen consoles i hope they dont talk about the wii because compared to a ps3 or xbox 360 its a ps2 or xbox with motion sensor remotes and still worst then a ps2.

The Wii is the 5th iteration on Nintendo's Game Consoles, hence next-generation.
It isn't a high definition gaming console, but it is a "next generation" console.

Lol, Sony already struggled with it this gen. What makes you think they could have done it last gen? Nintendo spent 2 years designing the Wii-mote, it's not like they just threw it together real quick.

Motion sensing technology has been around since the 80s. :|Nope it is not.. Nor is the PS3 and Xbox360
SO for God sake, just stop calling Current gen consoles "Next-gen, half this gen has already passed..
Guilable people think the "Next-Gen" makes the consoles better or something? Its just annoying, dont know what kind of commercial brainwash that allows this kind of mindlessnes..
And yes, my post doesnt relate more then slightly too the topic. But TC's point is done too death and should be considerd spam..

So, since you believed Nintendo, then you must have also believed Sony when they said that the PS3 can do 120 FPS and Microsoft when they stated that the Xbox 360's failure rate is 3%, right?

sony never really tried it unless you count the eyetoy, and im positive MS could have done it because their technology was superior than the other consoles

The use of the term "next-gen" is simply some comercial brainwashing anyway.. Considering people still use "next gen" for current gen consoles shows how easily manipulated people are.. Its really sad.
Actually, the Wii is two generations ahead of the PS3 and three generations ahead of the XBox360. So the Wii is more "next-gen" than your beloved "next-gen" consoles.SER69
Wow. This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. 3 Generations ahead of Xbox 360? Wow that is seriously ridiculous.

This.
I am also tired of people calling current gen systems next-gen. Next-gen consoles refer to the next generation (PS4, Xbox720, Wii 2). Since the generation is upon us, it is now called current gen.
Also, as a side note, the wii is current gen. Just because its not HD and have all the bells and whistles the PS3 and Xbox360 have doesnt make it anything else. It is the generation preceding the Gamecube, PS2, and Xbox generation making it current gen along with the 360 and PS3.
Fine. It's not a next-gen console. The 360 and PS3 are getting their asses whupped by a last-gen console.
Happy now?

Easy: Wii = 5th generation Nintendo console. PS3 = 3rd generation Sony console. Xbox360 = 2nd generation Microsoft console.[QUOTE="TAKE_IT_BACK"]"wii ARE not a next gen system"

Yes, but not to the degree or advancement the Wii Remote and Nunchuk perform. It has never been done on such a scale.
You could also say 'graphics' have been around since the 70's.
Actually, computer graphics is from the 60s if I remember correctly - but that's besides the point. The technical aspects of the Wii are downright laughable -- that pretty much sums it all up.how about ps3 is not a next gen console becuase it doesn't have mario or as good motion controls as Wii. its just different, not last gen. and how about ps3 is worse than a SNES!i have a question when people talk about next gen consoles i hope they dont talk about the wii because compared to a ps3 or xbox 360 its a ps2 or xbox with motion sensor remotes and still worst then a ps2.

like 789shadow already said, we see a 'next-gen' console as the successor to the previous console
the Wii is a system that is more powerful and has more features than the previous iteration. i.e. 'Next-Gen', or current gen as its known now
