Why is there almost no hype for Little Big Planet 3?

now im getting it along with 4 of my friends and we're all very excited for LBP3

I only play the first LBP but never bother with the second only because I was still in Nursing School back then and my PSN friends told me it was shit and by looking at the gameplay on youtube, they were right. This new one looks mor the same, Sony is trying to hard with LBP3 and now the series has lost it's juice.

The problem with LBP is that everything after LBP1 just felt like add ons/DLC.

LBP2 did nothing.

LBP3 looks exactly the same as everything from before, but with companion buddies that have quirky abilities. Again, it just feels and looks like an add on/DLC that could have been released on the other games.

And even tho its a good game and fun, it looses its magic and excitement because its a simple game and everything you could do with it and experience with has already been done in the first game.

Another thing is that people want next gen games... LBP3 looks exactly the same as the PS3 games in everything. People dont mind a franchise from last gen continuing on next gen if they have that next gen look and feel to it.

And lastly.... no one was asking for LBP3. Not only did no one know about it either, but MM had said multiple times that they were done with LBP like 6 months are LBP2 and were moving to something else, and everyone was fine with the franchise ending.

REALLY? and how many people here are talking about bloodborne? come on..the reason why its not being discussed on here is because the interest in the series has faded.

The creation tools are impressive in this series, but it means pretty much nothing if the gameplay is crap.

this is it. i was excited about it when first announced at e3 (LBP2 being a top 10 game for me last gen), i then mentioned it to my wife and all she could muster was "but haven't they done that already?". she's right, we've seen this already, it's time to move on. now i'll definitely still play it at some point but i am VERY happy that the talented folks at media molecule have themselves moved on.

A game franchise that bases it's hook around creation rather than solid gameplay is destined to be a niche title, appealing only to a select crowd of people. It was made with the people who want to make a working calculator in mind, not for people to enjoy buttery smooth, tight platforming gameplay.

Because it doesn't make a big enough leap from LBP2 so it's just meh...I might make a hype thread though...we'll see.

If the PC is so great why does it seem like all hermits ever do is try to shove it down people's throats? It sounds like you're trying to convince yourselves more than anyone.

this is simply incorrect. they added things like grapple hooks (which added to gameplay immensely), a much, much better UI, the ability to create playlists and heart community levels...etc. anyone who has played lbp 1 and 2 would know the obvious improvements made. lbp 2 is infinitely better than the first game in almost every way which is why it is, and will remain the peak of the series.

i enjoyed LBP 1 and 2, but i'm probably gonna skip this one or get it next year or in 2 years time

LBP 1 was fun and unique-ish but when LBP 2 came out it was missing all of the charm that the first game had, the gameplay was almost the same, the music was not nearly as good, and the level design was uninteresting.

Honestly, i played Puppeteer and it felt like a better sequel to LBP than LBP2 was. I'd rather see a sequel to Puppeteer than LBP3.

Different Developer, HYPE dissipated.

Besides, I've been in SW since the Xbox/Gamecube/PS2 days and LBP is not loved here. There is a small audience here that would defend it, but most people just don't enjoy the games in this particular forum. Now you know. Factor in a different developer, and we have nothing much to get worked up about.
