Which one do you think is better? Uncharted series or Gears of War series?

Which one do you think is better? Uncharted series or Gears of War series?
I prefer Gears of War 1 more than Uncharted 1
but Uncharted 2 completely destroy Gears of War 2 in my opinion
so I prefer Uncharted series more than Gears of War series.

Gears of War 1 is a very good game, but I think I still like Uncharted 1 better. It wasn't as polished, but I like the characters + story + graphics. I also prefer how Uncharted does cover compared to Gears...I kept getting "stuck" on walls at inopportune times.

Uncharted 2 blows away Gears 2, no question. U2 was better than U1 in just about every conceivable way, while Gears 2's only notable improvement was Horde Mode. Plus the story in Gears 2...it's painful.

UC1 was pretty underated at the time IMO (and I blame the terrible 4th Indiana film) , it was already the equal of Gears. UC2 is miles ahead.

Give me the Uncharted series anytime

Uncharted. Story is better, Graphics are better, Gameplay is better, Characters are better...everything is better. IMO of course.

i prefer GeoW series... UC is not my cup of tea

Uncharted has nothing Gears neither 1 or 2

Not to sound like a fanboy but I really hate the look of Gears, the game has a horrible art design and it just looks like everything was injected with steroids to make it look as manly as possible, on the other I think Halo 3 looks really good even though I hate all FPS. As you can tell Im gonna go with Uncharted, the game looks infinitely better, the story is top notch and the characters are simply amazing which cannot be said about Gears.

Judging by his post history I can tell he likes chocolate cake, has trouble sleeping and lives in a 2 storey home with hardwood floors and furniture he bought from Bombay.

wha overrated! the game got an 8, I hardly call that overrated, unless you think the game is a 6 or 7. I love Uncharted, it was the perfect start to a brand new IP from ND. breath-taking graphics, interesting characters, fun gameplay and a good story. Not overrated one bit, I grant you it is a short game but at the price it is now it's a well worth purchase.

I like everything in uncharted way more then gears. Gameplay,characters,story and MP.

I totally disagree about the flawed gameplay and controls, in fact Uncharted 2 isn't that different to the first one in terms of gameplay yet it's in your top 5 best games this gen. IMO Gears is the better series overall but I like the Uncharted characters much better.

Why does Gears series have a question mark over it? While I personally like Uncharted's SP more, Anything competitive-wise is just better on gearsno doubtand I like how epic went a bit of an extra length to make some gameplay changes whether the community likes them or not, the only thing that really keeps me from saying Uncharted 1.5 is the graphics bring it to a whole new level.

I only played GEOW2 out of the gears seriesbut I will say that UC2 is a whole lot better. You can't even jump in GEOW so the levels are all one level with no platforming. The graphics are way better for UC2 also compared to GEOW2. The characters like someone mention are just guys on steroids for GEOW2. Now I can see wherepeople like the weapons better in GEOW and maybe the ability to do Co-op offlinealso but the story telling sucks for GEOW2 compared to UC2. I know I tried to get my g/f to play GEOW2 with me but she got bored of it real fast and she wishes that UC2 had an offline co-op component to play with it. Well UC2 in my book just looks and plays better than GEOW2 and I loved UC alsoso I have to say Uncharted.

I like my shooters, shooters, and my platformers, platformers.

Gears is a straight shooter, whereas Uncharted mixes platforming with shooting. This would be fine, had it had a greater focus on platforming. Also, the shooting element of Uncharted is weak ...

I haven't had much experiance with Gears, i keep meaning to play it but other things come up, but from the little i've played i think i'll enjoy it more then uncharted. Unless the gameplay gets boring.

Uncharted Series for me. Also the online on Uncharted 2 is awesome. It barely even lags and it doesnt have the amount of glitches Gears 2 had.

Gears of War is too brooding and silly and also features no adventuring or general hijinks. Also Among Thieves is so much better than any of these games in all areas I can think of.

Gears of War is a consistent AAA franchise and sold more too.

Both series are great but I have to lean towards Gears... and its a series with a higher averaged rating.

I feel the same, but U2 completely blew away either Gears game. Plus, with Gears 2 it seemed to not progress well, using the same sticky cover mechanics and online with no incentives to progress in ranks. Uncharted 2 on the other hand, adapted, fixed issues and became one of the best games I've ever played and the current console graphics king. Gears 1 still holds a place in my heart for being the first truly next gen feeling game.

Ironically, while I often hear people saying Uncharted ripped Gears off (because apparently they scrapped several years of work to blatantly rip off a game in less than a year), but Gears actually took some of their mechanics from games like kill.switch and Resident Evil 4. A game doesn't have to be completely new or innovative to be amazing, it just has to do it better than everyone else.

I think the Uncharted series is better. I didn't care much for Gears 2 even after loving the original. Uncharted 2 however was superb, but not super awesome as it is made out to be. I played through the campaign 3 times, didn't care much for the multiplayer & therefore sold the game.
