What's your favorite game of 2008 so far?

In my opinion, it's Brawl. It's my third favorite game of all time. The Subspace Emisarry was pretty fun until the crappy three hour maze at the end that you do everything you already did again. But the battles remained as fun as ever and made a bunch of new additions that really added to the game, without taking the core of the gameplay away. The roster was as big as ever, all the stages were unique as they had something going on, unlike some past stages, the sound was amazing, the graphics and lack of lag/slow-down was awesome, and the multiplayer was as fun as ever! I don't normally play online, so I didn't even bother trying to go online, unless it was with someone I knew.

Anyway, mostly, I've been playing a bunch of other games I missed out from past years, like Metal Gear Solid, Viewitful Joe, New Super Mario Brothers, The Orange Box, and the like.

For games that I bought and played for a good amount of time... Super Smash Brothers Brawl, No More Heroes, and Audiosurf are the only ones that come to mind. The first two games I named are AAA quality, but Audiosurf was surpisingly disappointing, and I didn't really like it at all.

What say you?

if i had a ps3 id be able to say metal gear because i've watched like 2 full playthroughs on youtube and feel as though i've played it - i loved the first metal gear games and this was my only option lol

I was thinking of putting Sins of a Solar Empire in there, but I found that there was more talk surrounding The World Ends With You, so I went with that.

By the way, thanks for helping me with Audiosurf a few weeks back. I got it done, but I didn't like the game much. Yeah, it was kind of disappointing. Personally, I found DDR and Guitar Hero to be better, but it was better than Donkey Konga... Oh well, it was only ten dollars. I am actually planning to get Company of Heroes very soon off Steam.

Seriously? You watched someone else play the whole game? Wow... But then again, Metal Gear Solid has always been more of a "cinematic adventure."

I still need to beat 2 and 3 before I move on to 4. If I don't end up getting a PS3 this holiday season and am finished with 2 and 3 by then, I might just do what you did. Actually, I probably won't. :P

yea i really liked oblivion and i would say its one of my favs. BUT the stupid glitch after knights of the nine expansion really pissed me off.

God forbid that people who own multiple consoles or don't own a PS3 like MGS4 the best :roll: .

Anyways, MGS4 is my favorite 2008 but SSBB is a close 2nd.

Our proof that mgs4 is a great game? Anyways, it's quite funny really, back in 2006 there were like 2 cows in all of system wars, PS3 constantly bashed, and I was one of the few that defended it, not things are begining to change.

Out of all of those games I've only played GTA IV, so I'm going with that. However, GTA IV has been a big let down for me. The level of detail is amazing, but it's shooting elements and platforming elements suck compared to other current gen titles.
