Given inFamous' infamous 7.5, I'd say Uncharted 3 had a really good chance, no matter how much it improves. Also, Gears 3 as well. Both games are surely going to be hyped AAA, but both are very possible 8.5's. We are nearing the end of the generation, and from what I remember last gen, the same thing happened, lots of games scored much lower than expected, solely because standards had gone up. I won't care all that much, seeing as how DNF's legendary flop almost solicited nothing from me in terms of a reaction.
Is it me or does everyone sound like they've forgotten the existence of every single game that isn't one of Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, Gears of War 3, Skyrim, Skyward Sword and occasionally Dark Souls? They seem to be the only games that are ever mentioned, both in regards to most anticipated and most likely to flop.

a flop is below 9.0 A flop is when a game scores lower on Gamespot than it was hyped. A game that's hyped to be a 7.0 but gets a 6.5 is also a flop. When is a game ever hyped to be a 7.0 lol?When a game gets hype its because everyone thinks its gonna be good

I actually have a feeling Resistance 3 may be a flop too. Not sure why, and I certainly hope its not, just a nasty feeling. As well as that I guess Gears 3 may flop.

I can see it getting between 7-8 on Gamespot but as long as the developers have learned their lesson from the second one then R3 should be quite good.

Maybe this example you can comprehend: If a game is hyped 10 and get's a 9.5 it's also a flop. It's just not really common. The most common flop score is an 8.5 for obvious reasons.

Yeah well by flop I meant on Gamespot. Im still gonna buy it day 1 cos it looks like a nice hybrid between Resistance 1 and 2 :)

Gears 3 that game is being way overblown and it really doesn't seem that advance from plyaing the beta. I still buy it because there isn't anything out on the 360 exclusive wise I like.

hahaha i saw the pic a few days ago and HAD to call dibs on it:P
I don't see any of those flopping, in fact they seem like safe bets and if they're just as decent as their predecessors I'll be picking them up, I'm voting "other", my guess is Shadows of the Damned will be the next big flop. Or F3AR though keeping fingers crossed as I actually liked FEAR and FEAR 2. Catherine comes out next month, I'm looking forward to it, but don't imagine it'll get the best critical reception or much sales for that matter. Of a more anticipated title though I think it could be Deus Ex Human Revolution. Assassin's Creed Revelations doesn't interest me as I thought 2 was overrated but still decent, but AC:B was way too overrated, like rushed AC2 DLC got turned into a full retail game by slapping a barely functional multiplayer on it, but I expect AC:R to get great critical reception and sales nonetheless but I expect nothing more other than mediocrity masked by the series' convoluted and ambiguous story that promises to only one day make sense by the final sequel, but it won't pay off and it'll be too late because by the time everybody realizes it the publishers already got your money.

Care to explain why? My instincts :) Seriously, it depends on the hype. If it does get AAA hype, then it will more than likely flop - the graphics look murky and kind of screw up the pretty nice art style, the AI looks kinda dumb, the whole experience seems somewhat clunky and unpolished - I don't know, it just doesn't seem like an AAA, hell, looking at a certain recent review that shall go unnamed, an AA by GS's standards, game. That's entirely my opinion, and the general feeling I personally get from looking at the existing gameplay coverage, feel free to undermime it.

Something went wrong during the development of Resistance. It simply looks bad for a game developed for one system this late this generation.
