Ah, don't we all love going split screen or online with a buddy in a game, and kicking arse? Going coop is more fun in this generation than any other generation before it, and I dare you to proove me otherwise! So, this brings up a question. Whats the best?

Boarderlands coop: Going up against a bass arse scags, and Jason Voorhees with four friends, and crazy weapons is one of this gens coop gems, and without the coop the game is a boring tedious mess.

Resistance 2 coop: Say what you want about R2(anonymous troll "its graphics are awefull, the animations are bad, it wants to be halo!") Whatever the bollocks you want to say you cannot ignore how awesome its coop was. It was very tight, and original(for a shooter) and most of all addictive. Heck some ppl just played that part of the game, and ignored the rest.

Left 4 Dead 2 coop: Zombies + shooter action + 4 desprite survivors with big guns = ZOMG!!!!!! This was the coop game to play when you absolutely positively need to shower your self in blood without worrying about the clean up. Seriously though,do I need to explain why this game is awesome?

Rock Band 2 coop: Yea I can hear a lot of ppl complaining about this being here, but hear me out. This is the one coop game on this list that can be a big social event at parties that don't just include your group of dnd friends(dont worry I'm making fun of my self to). Its one of those few games that gets just about everyone togather to have fun with, and that in my mind is what makes it a great coop game. Simply because it gets everyone togather to play it.

Gears 2 coop: Ahh, this is an insainly fun game to play through with a friend, and horde mode is the icing on the cake for this amazing game.

___________________________

btw I'd be perfectly happy switching out any of these games this time if there was a huge one a missed.

get rid of Borderlands, Rockband or Gears and put down Halo 3. MP, forge, SP, Firefight are all co-op compliant. unless split-screen isn't being counted for here, I view them as one in the same tbh.

anyhow. I choose L4D2 overall, it stresses cooperation the best of any game.

Wait you want me to remove those 2 but not R2? I'd of thought you'd wanted me to get rid of that instead. anyway I wont add Halo, but I don't know what SP MP are so please explain.

just to clarify, I meant the singleplayer campaign is compliant with the co-op feature. otherwise that does not make sense at all.

RB2 has had countless hours of fun tbh.Its a staple when i throw a party cause it always ends up being a good laugh and i have a massive selection of songs so theres something there for everyone was gonna throw a wee bash tonight for GD:RB but im skint :'( and cant afford GD:RB lol cause a lot of us are GD fans.

On the social aspect rock band is above the rest tbh cause its brought so many laughs like me trying to do LOG-Laid To Rest and BDM-What a horrible night to have a curse and getting drunk and singing a paramore song. The social aspect is what makes RB so much of a good co-op game.So it geets my vote.

Yea, but I still wouldn't put it on this list. It's just mario 3 + 4. Besides lbp skull shags NSMBW in the coop department, but even so both games have your coop buddies beating each other up more often than actually working together, so I wouldn't include ether of those on this list.

The Left 4 Dead series is cooperative gaming at it's finest. It's you, your boyz, some guns, and a crap ton of zombies trying to annihalte you as you try to get from point A to point B. Throw in some cool multiplayer modes like scavange and a rather unique versus mode and you have one of the best coop experiences to ever grace gaming. Borderlands is cool though if you want to loot whore it up.

hell yeah i remember seeing it when I was like 8 or 9. Man I tell my niece all the time(partially as a joke, but mostly because it's true) my generation had way better cartoons :P. We had darkwing duck, gargoyles, doug, rockos modern life, swat cats, and cartoon network was actually awesome. Plus the best episodes of the Simpsons. Most of the stuff today is pretty trash, and words can not express my hatred for anime :|

I barely watched any of those cartoons, The only 3 cartoons I watched as a kid was animaniacs Dragonball, and droids. Most of the time I was watching boring stuff on Nat Geo, and the History Channel. Personally I think anime's the only good form of animation. I don't watch the anime BS on Cartoon network, or adults swim except when Cowboy Bebop trigun, and Inuyasha are on which are only aired on late saturday nights. But thats just my taste.

I loved animaniacs. The only anime I've ever really liked is Outlaw Star. I obviously saw DragonBall Z, Gundam Wing, and pretty much the entire toonami lineup, but they don't hold up for me. Outlaw star though? that I can watch again and not hate..

I didn't like gundam much. It was very boring. DBZ I can still watch up to 100 and some eps, but past that I cant stand it though DB kicks DBZ in the teeth when it comes to being funny. I would be lying if I said I didn't absolutely hate some anime *cough* naruto *cough* bleach *cough* I just hate anime that milk out every last drop of fan service it can. And I think thats one thing American Cartoons have over a lot of Japanese anime. Oddly enough I've never seen Outlaw Star.

I wish I had spent more time on Splinter cells coop. I mearly just rented it for 3 days, and was able to beat the single player in a few hours, but only sank like 2 hours on the coop before I had to return it. Though what I played of it was really good.

I disagree, I loved R2's single player. It was one of the few fps SP's that lasted over ten hours for me, and I felt it was paced very well. As for the story, it wasn't told very well, but there are a lot of very interesting, or even depressing things about the plot, and world surrounding the game if you payed attention, and read the intel & such. Again you can fault the story for not doing a good job at delivering the major elements that would have otherwise strengthened its narrative.

No matter my mean opinion on halo 3 on an entire design standpoint its coop was basically the same an the other halo games except for the skulls thing, but that's hardly an innovation. Even my buds who like halo wouldn't consider one of the best coops of this gen.

Men of War, ArmA II, Left 4 Dead 1/2 were fantastic. You know gameplay that really encourages player dependency, and core cooperative mechanics.

I never play games for the story but the pieces of Intel were indeed nice. It's actually the gameplay of Resistance 2 I didn't like. The first game felt like a game inspired by Half-Life 2 in setting as well as gameplay the second however just felt like a weak CoD-clone i.e. playing a weaker version of CoD with aliens. Insomniac should have expanded on R1 and put some more original ideas into it instead of just cloning what is popular and sells good.

Although it was good the iffy design around the game kinda ruined what could have been one of the best coops. Ps, I wont change any of these games on the polls unless you being up a really good point as to why I should change it to your game.

I play games based on the merits that the games want to live up to. Now I played R1, and R2 before I play CoD, and thought that the aiming, and shooting felt smoother, and more static however I think I prefer the more static shooter because there is no X facter such as shaky sights, and shaky aiming that would throw off my aiming(not to say thats a bad thing, and in CoDs case the shakyness adds to the realism) Though I guess it does all come down to how we like our shooters. btw, its speculated that the chimera from R2 were in fact an old species that was existed on earth long before humans that went into a state of hibernation state for millions of years to avoid extinction when the earths climate got to hot for them to live which explains the giant towers buried underground that were meant to keep them cool till the earth started getting cold. Though when you think about it you'll find one big plot hole when you ask your self"why didn't they awaken during the ice age?" Anyway my point is, The chimera aren't technically aliens.

It's hard to break Rock Band 2. You could do the whole thing co-op and it was just a riot with the right people.

For more traditional gaming, the 4-player online co-op of Halo 3 is hard to beat but there are entire games built around co-op like L4D. Personally I think the L4D series has been the best just because the focus is on co-op gameplay.

Men of War, ArmA II, Left 4 Dead 1/2 were fantastic. You know gameplay that really encourages player dependency, and core cooperative mechanics. skrat_01

Crap I forgot ArmA 2. I play regularly with a 12 man squad (looking to go to 20 soon). I keep forgetting that ArmA 2 falls under a co-op since I never really play it anything but co-op.

ArmA II, meh. Maby if the game wasn't bugged up the arse it'd have a good competitor for these other games.

Singleplayer campaign on release =/= Multiplayer. None of these other games come close to the scope, versatility, options and sheer amount of content ArmA II offers.
