What reasons did you never jump on the playstation bandwagon? I never jumped on the playstation bandwagon. Ive never bought something playstation in my life. I had a n64 then xbox then xbox 360. I liked the games on n64 better with ones like turok 2,super mario 64 and killer instinct. Then on xbox I liked it because it was made by microsoft an american company. So I bought xbox 360 for the same reason and that I finally got broadband to play xbox live. I guess my reason is the alternative was always better.

I've never seen the appeal of their exclusive games. Sure, I'd play Demons Souls or Heavy Rain if I had a PS3, but I'm not going to go out and buy the most expensive console just for them.

Always liked what Nintendo/MS offered. Although I almost bought a PS2, instead i went and got an Xbox. And I do have a PS3, but I hardly play it.

a better question is what was it about the PS3 that made you buy a 360 after previously buying a PS2?

Not enough time to play the games, it would just increase my backlog. That and I rather die than be called a Sony fanboy. :P

I had a SNES, then a PS1, then an Xbox, and this gen I've owned all three (though my PS3 died so I sold it and got at 360).

I've never really had "brand loyalty", I just got whichever had the games that really interested the most. Now that I'm an adult I'm able to afford more than one console which greatly expands my available games, but it has nothing to do with brand loyalty which is ridiculous.

I resisted buying a Playstation for awhile. Tried to saty true to Nintendo and all, with teh N64. Even when Final Fantasy 7 came out, I was like nah. Then I demo'd Bushido Blade and was like "This is awesome." Then FF Tactics came out and I was like... "Ok. FF7... Bushido Blade... FFT... What's the N64 got again, besides Shadows of the Empire? Time to sitch." Was glad I did, because the PS1 library OBLITERATED anything else that gen. Likewise with the PS2. And I haven't had any reason to regret the PS3, so there ya have it.

Good thing they manufacture 360s in China then. I never owned a PS1 (I just stuck with the N64), I got a PS2 and a GCN (avoided the Xbox 1 because it was crap), this gen I have every console (Ps3 is probably my favorite one).

i got an xbox over a ps3 because my xbox 360 cost me £180 in total (£120 xbox arcade + £60 60GB xbox live starter kit) whereas the ps3 equivelant was £300. this was 2-3 years ago.

Dont really have any beef with the ps3. It wouldnt be worth my while to buy a ps3 because i would struggle to find enough time to play on both consoles.

I would agree but the homogenization in the Japanese gaming market is starting to show. The Japanese, ironically enough, are one of the more Xenophobic nations. Part of why JRPG's have become so stale is because they are distinctly Japanese and a resistance to change is a mark of heritage.

I don't think I know anyone who plays games that didn't own a ps2. I didn't have a ps1, but did have a ps2.

I loved the N64, and it suited me just fine. I'm sure there were more games on the ps1, but if I didn't know about them it didn't really matter to me. Having all consoles last gen is the reason I went with Sony this gen, although I have owned all three this gen but sold off the Wii and 360.

Quite simply, Sony is the best about supporting its consoles, whereas MS completely ditched the Xbox quickly and Nintendo makes the only games worth playing on their system. That's an exaggeration, but only a slight one.

Shame, because you sure missed out some damn good PlayStation, and PlayStation 2 games. I will say though, the N64 rocked too... hmmmm the good days for sure.

"Bandwagon?" Nah, I just like games. PS3 had games I wanted. So did the 360. So did the Wii. And what does a console being Japanese or American have to do with anything?

Wait, what? I don't get it, are you TRYING to destroy your credibility? You never bought a PS1 as you preferred the N64 games, but how do you know that if you never played the Ps1 games? Maybe round a friends house, but that's not a very good indication. Then you admit to regional discrimination in your purchases... I don't get it!! What were you trying to accomplish with this thread? Was your account hacked? Is this a late April fools? It makes no sense!

If you don't like Japanese consoles then I guess you don't like some of the greatest consoles of all time, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Dreamcast, and more, Nevermind all the Sony consoles which are also among the best if not THE best in case of PS1 and PS2. What a ridiculous reason to not want to play a console. Lets not even mention the fact that I don't think a single XBOX has actually been manufactured in the United States, ever. They're all made in China. So as if your point wasn't silly enough, it's also moot. :)

Same story here. Except I didn't "resist" anything. I bought PS1 before I bought a N64. I still have bought every Nintendo console as well, but I would say Sony is easily my #1 gaming machine and has been since the days of PS1 (with some PC games thrown in for good measure).

Honestly, apart a few exclusives, 360 does everything PS3 does and more. Also, while i didnt like Sony´s attitude at the beginning of this gen, i have nothing against playstation brand. I really loved PS1 and PS2, especially the first one.

first, by the time the ps1 was released, I was somewhat a casual gamer and only knew nintendo brands (like mario) so I got a nintendo 64 instead of a playstation, then I bought a NGC because of smash bros melee and Istill didnt knew what the ps2 had to offer, after nba 2k games ceased to appear in nintendo consoles I decided to buy a new one and I got the original xbox just because I never liked the PS controllers (which are almost all the same accross generations) then I got a 360 because I liekd the xbox and the PS# continued to have the same controllers of old

This thread is clever lol. Anyway Microsoft forced me into getting a PS3, I only owned a PS1 before this but I didn't like alot of the games so I used the 64 more, and I ended up skipping the PS2 era console wise. Then I bought a 360, only to have MS bs me about needing a HDD for live, no hdmi, 3 rrods and seeing alot of the games I wanted (at the time) being on PC as well, so I bought a wii then a PS3. If I could go back in time, I'd just wait to buy any of the consoles. The PS3 had nothing, the wii is a disappointment and the 360's hardware was terrible.

Piracy is a major issue in South America, which is why the Xbox 360 sells more hardware units. My friend whose family lives in Guatemala said that every one of his cousins has an Xbox 360, but they don't buy games for the systems because they can just download them.

WTF does Mexico and Guatemala have to do with South America?????:|

But it's true I'm from Guatemala and here PS2, Wii and 360 are the consoles to have because you can pirate.

well we're not called United Statesmen, we're called Americans, because of that Americans consider America to be the U.S. I agree with what you're saying but I think that's the reason why.

yeah the country name is United States of America, just like Mexico is named Mexican United States (and Im not joking) I just found it curious anyway, to stay on topic, like you go to a blockbuster and the xbox 360 rentals zone is like twice the PS3's which might indicate which is more markeatable here.
